The Kansai East Connecting Road is a "regional high-standard road" that connects Saitama Prefecture (Kanetsu Expressway, Hanazono Interchange) and Yamanashi Prefecture (Shin-Yamanashi Ring Road). It aims to promote the exchange of people and goods between the northern Kanto region and the Koshin and Tokai regions, and to revitalize the economy and tourism as a new high-speed network road under construction. Among these, a five-span continuous PC box girder bridge (tentatively named New Mainano Bridge, main span 725.5 m) is being constructed on the rising lane on the Mainano Town side, which crosses the Arakawa River and the Chichibu Railway as part of the Kainano Chichibu Bypass.
