The MLT method (no-excavation hole wall method) is a technique that involves pre-drilling and replacing the ground to drive steel sheet piles or H-piles into hard ground. By compressing the excavated soil against the hole wall using a special screw made of a compression wing and a mixing wing, the self-support of the hole wall is achieved, allowing for rapid drilling. As a result, the amount of soil discharged during drilling is also reduced. This method is particularly effective for hard ground, including gravel, cobbles, and bedrock, achieving cost reduction and shorter construction periods compared to conventional methods.
