There are various methods for earthquake countermeasures, and our company has developed and manufactures seismic retrofit slit materials that are inserted between the columns cut by cutter work and the secondary walls. Buildings constructed after the "New Seismic Design Method" implemented on June 1, 1981, are designed to include seismic slits to prevent "shear failure due to short columns." For buildings constructed before that date that require seismic retrofitting, options include brace reinforcement and cutter work. To prevent major earthquake disasters like the Great East Japan Earthquake, we encourage you to consider this as one of the safety measures for existing buildings.
