High accurate core loss measurement from low to high frequency (tens MHz)

For miniaturization of electronic component using magnetic material, it is required to measure core loss of magnetic material with small magnetic permeability at high frequency with high accuracy. In the conventional evaluation method of measuring loss by applying winding to the toroidal core, it is necessary to reduce the number of turns of search coil to shift self resonant frequency to high frequency side in order to measure loss at high frequency. However, reducing the number of turns causes loss measurement value underestimation due to magnetic flux leakage from the toroidal core. This invention is possible to measure core loss with high accuracy from low to high frequency, independently of the number of coil turns by compensating difference between permeability during loss measurement and permeability measured separately. Also, the addition of this invention to existing loss measurement device is considered to be technically not so difficult.

Visualize 3D Land-Use Conditions in 2D!

In recent years, drone (UAV)-based surveying has increasingly used Structure from Motion (SfM) to derive three-dimensional information from multi-view images for assessing terrain and vegetation conditions. However, directly handling elevation data may require specialized processing environments and the capacity to manage large datasets, making it difficult to integrate such data into existing image-analysis workflows. 　This invention provides a method for generating a surface composite image that utilizes acquired elevation information to facilitate an intuitive understanding of land-surface use and conditions. With this technology, height information derived from three-dimensional data can be represented as a widely compatible three-channel RGB image. As a result, the data can retain elevation information while remaining lightweight and easy to handle, enabling use in conventional image-processing environments and with a variety of freely available software tools. 　In a comparative example of estate woodland extraction, the Dice coefficient was 0.64 when using orthophotos alone, whereas it increased to 0.80 when using the composite image, confirming improved extraction accuracy. These features make the technology promising as a practical means of seamlessly incorporating elevation information into existing image-based workflows, including vegetation assessment, visualization of land-surface use, and condition monitoring around disaster-affected areas and infrastructure.

Possible to solve constrained quadratic programming problems

　Recently, almost all combinatorial optimization problems are represented by constrained quadratic programming problems. However, in solving them, we further apply the penalty method, etc., transform them into unconstrained quadratic programming problems, and perform quantum annealing operations on the converted mathematical expressions. However, the conversion generated redundant variables that required a huge amount of computing resources, so that practical operations are impossible. 　We propose a method for solving all combinatorial optimization problems by quantum annealing, and it became possible to solve practically all optimization problem.
