Free membership registrationAquadopp is a compactly designed yet user-friendly single-point current velocity and direction meter. It is primarily used for time series analysis of variations in current velocity and direction at a constant water depth. The measurement point for current velocity and direction can be set up to 5 meters away from the device via software. This feature, which utilizes ultrasound to measure the current velocity at a remote location, minimizes the effect of structures such as frames and mooring lines that could disrupt the flow and adversely affect the velocity data. Aquadopp lineup: - For coastal areas: Aquadopp 300m (300m depth pressure resistant) - For deep-sea mooring: DW Aquadopp (3000m depth pressure resistant, 6000m depth pressure resistant) - The Aquadopp 6000m also has a version compatible with inductive modems. The Aquadopp 300m model allows for wave measurement using a pressure gauge. It is possible to run a timer between current velocity and direction measurements.

Free membership registrationThe Vector is a high-precision single-point flow direction and velocity meter that can be set to a sampling frequency of up to 64 Hz. To perform remote flow direction and velocity measurements using ultrasound, it is not necessary to place sensors within the measurement area. Measurements can be taken without disturbing the flow conditions in the target area. It is particularly effective for measuring flows in complex situations, such as those occurring behind structures, in breaking wave zones, and near the seabed, where measurements are difficult with ADCPs. There is also a deep-sea version of the Vector with a titanium pressure-resistant housing that can withstand depths of 6000 meters. It can be used in various environments, from field marine areas to flow measurements in hydraulic experiment tanks.

Free membership registrationAWAC is a wave measurement device that uses ultrasonic Doppler technology, making it ideal for simple wave observation (deriving wave parameters). It is also equipped with traditional multi-layer current velocity measurement functions (ADCP), allowing for the measurement of both waves and current conditions. For more advanced and flexible measurements of waves and current conditions, we recommend the multifunctional ADCP "Signature" series, which includes AWAC's wave measurement capabilities. AWAC emits sound waves from a transducer located at its center towards the sea surface to directly measure the water surface elevation, calculating wave height and its period. By emitting ultrasonic waves from three transducers, it measures the near-surface current velocity (caused by the circular motion of waves) to derive the wave direction spectrum. By using ultrasonic technology to measure the sea surface, accurate wave height and direction measurements can be achieved even from the seabed at depths of up to 100 meters, which is difficult with pressure gauges alone. Utilizing a uniquely developed SUV method, accurate wave measurements can be achieved even when mounted on a mid-water float (patented). By using a mid-water float in areas deeper than 100 meters, wave measurements can be conducted as long as the main device is kept at a depth of 100 meters or shallower.

Free membership registrationThe Signature1000 and Signature500 are lightweight, compact, and multifunctional acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP) designed to meet various measurement needs in coastal areas. Functions such as wave, turbulence, sea ice, and echogram measurements can be freely selected and added later. Echograms can be obtained by using a transducer positioned at the fifth center as an echo sounder, allowing for high-resolution measurement of underwater biomass. With the new AD2CP platform, it is now possible to simultaneously execute multiple measurement functions (patented technology), enabling the acquisition of high-density information in a short period. They are also optimal tools for turbulence observation. Regarding sampling frequency, the Signature1000 has a maximum of 16 Hz, while the Signature500 has a maximum of 8 Hz. It has become possible to analyze parts of the turbulence spectrum that were previously difficult to measure.

Free membership registrationThe Aquadopp Profiler is a highly versatile ultrasonic Doppler current profiler (ADCP). There are four types in the lineup depending on the measurement range (distance). It is the ideal ADCP for those who want to simply conduct multi-layer current and velocity observations. In particular, it allows for wave measurements using a pressure gauge to be performed between current and velocity measurements, making it a series with high cost performance. The model equipped with the Z-Cell function can emit sound waves horizontally from the sensor head, allowing for the measurement of flow around the instrument. This feature enables the measurement of flow very close to the instrument, which was difficult with conventional ADCPs. The measurement range is from less than 1 m to over 85 m. The measurement range is determined by the acoustic frequency of each model. (Model name: Maximum measurement range) - Aquadopp Profiler 2MHz: 20m - Aquadopp Profiler 1MHz: 25m (including Z-Cell) - Aquadopp Profiler 600kHz: 40m (including Z-Cell) - Aquadopp Profiler 400kHz: 90m

Free membership registrationSignature55 is a multi-layer current velocity profiler with a pressure resistance equivalent to a water depth of 1500m and a measurement range of 1000m. Equipped with Nortek's new AD2CP platform, it achieves efficient observation mode control and low power consumption. Utilizing proprietary broadband signal processing, it enables reliable and high-precision data acquisition. Additionally, the design has been revamped to be compact and facilitate easy handling in the field. With the newly designed transducer, it performs the work of two devices in one. It can operate at two frequencies (55/75kHz), allowing for both extensive spatial measurements and high-resolution measurements (dense measurements in the depth direction) with a single unit. By using an AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference System, optional), it corrects the displacement of the measurement position (cell position) in real-time due to the device's motion. This allows for more accurate current velocity measurements even in environments with significant motion, such as when mounted on a surface buoy.

Free membership registrationThe Signature100 is a completely new ADCP equipped with both a flow direction and velocity profiler (with a measurement range of 400m) and a scientific fish finder sensor (echo sounder). For example, when focusing on the relationship between the behavior of fish and microorganisms (such as krill) in the ecosystem and ocean currents, it was previously necessary to measure acoustic reflections (echograms) and flow direction and velocity data with separate devices. The Signature100 allows for the acquisition of both types of data with just one device. Specifications of the scientific fish finder sensor: Beam width: 15° (70 kHz), 8.7° (120 kHz) Monochromatic pulse: 70kHz, 90kHz, 120kHz Frequency chirping: center frequency 100kHz (BW50%, 70kHz–120kHz) Vertical data spatial resolution: 0.375–4m (1800 data points) Pulse length: 0.5–6ms Resolution: 0.01dB Dynamic range: 130dB

Free membership registrationThis product is made of a transparent film that uses a slippery special material, designed so that marine organisms cannot remain on the surface of the film. It does not release any substances into the ocean, thus having no impact on the environment. Additionally, it has been specially developed to adhere to the transducer material, ensuring a reliable attachment over a long period during the observation period. The transducer surface of the ADCP cannot have any enclosures that would block sound waves, as it is used for transmitting and receiving sound waves. Some soft bottom paints may be used to prevent marine organism attachment to the transducer surface, but they have the drawback of being difficult to clean and handle after observations. When shellfish attach, the energy of the sound waves is absorbed, making it impossible to achieve the original measurement range. Furthermore, if organisms with air bubbles or moisture attach, they can block most of the sound waves, leading to cases where measurements cannot be taken. Very simple attachment process: Attaching to the transducer surface should be done like a regular sticker to avoid air bubbles, and after the observation, the film can simply be peeled off to complete the task.
