A single-point flow meter ideal for installation on underwater structures and mooring lines. It uses ultrasound to measure flow direction and velocity at remote locations with minimal influence from structures.
Aquadopp is a compactly designed yet user-friendly single-point current velocity and direction meter. It is primarily used for time series analysis of variations in current velocity and direction at a constant water depth. The measurement point for current velocity and direction can be set up to 5 meters away from the device via software. This feature, which utilizes ultrasound to measure the current velocity at a remote location, minimizes the effect of structures such as frames and mooring lines that could disrupt the flow and adversely affect the velocity data. Aquadopp lineup: - For coastal areas: Aquadopp 300m (300m depth pressure resistant) - For deep-sea mooring: DW Aquadopp (3000m depth pressure resistant, 6000m depth pressure resistant) - The Aquadopp 6000m also has a version compatible with inductive modems. The Aquadopp 300m model allows for wave measurement using a pressure gauge. It is possible to run a timer between current velocity and direction measurements.

basic information
Sensors installed to record the measurement environment: Water temperature sensor, pressure sensor, orientation compass, tilt sensor. All measurement values from the internal compass can be recorded. It is now possible to perform compass calibration after observation (not available for versions equipped with inductive modems). There is also an option for a dedicated frame with fins, Aqua Fin, which is ideal for attachment to mooring lines. Batteries can be stored inside the main unit. Up to two dedicated alkaline battery packs or lithium battery packs can be stored. Thanks to energy-saving design, it is possible to measure for about one year using just one alkaline battery pack. Example) Aquadopp 300m: Measure the flow direction and velocity at one point 5 meters from the device for 30 seconds every second and process the average. This is performed once every 30 minutes, recording the data, and obtaining operational verification data every two days. → Approximately one year of measurement possible (with one alkaline battery pack).

Applications/Examples of results
Applications: - Installed on mooring lines - Measurement of currents unaffected by structures - Measurement of shallow water waves and currents - An alternative to mechanical current meters that are subject to errors from biofouling - Measurement of current just below the water surface from surface buoys - Research on tidal currents - Use in wave observation buoys - Combination of current speed and high-precision CTD data - Integration with riser monitoring systems (Aquadopp 3000m, 6000m) - Measurement of currents near the seabed using seabed-mounted observation devices (landers) - Support for deep-sea drilling operations

Nortek Japan LLC (Nortek Japan) is the Japanese subsidiary of Nortek AS (headquartered in Oslo, Norway), which manufactures ultrasonic Doppler sensors. We handle the domestic sales of the flow direction and velocity meters, wave meters, and DVL (underwater navigation sensors) produced by the company. Additionally, Nortek Japan offers regular inspections of the products sold (including operational verification work, issuance of inspection reports, and replacement of consumables). Since the work is carried out domestically, we can shorten the return period and reduce overseas transportation costs*. Nortek's products have over 20 years of domestic sales experience and are utilized by environmental survey companies and research institutions both domestically and internationally for research and investigation purposes. Services offered by Nortek Japan LLC: - Product sales - Regular inspections (conducted domestically, including issuance of inspection reports and replacement of consumables) - Sales of various consumable parts, including drive batteries - Various repair services* - Technical support and usage suggestions *For repairs, inspections, and sensor calibration work that require precise inspection equipment, the work will be carried out at the headquarters factory in Norway.
