The Aquadopp Profiler is a highly versatile ultrasonic Doppler current profiler (ADCP). There are four types in the lineup depending on the measurement range (distance). It is the ideal ADCP for those who want to simply conduct multi-layer current and velocity observations. In particular, it allows for wave measurements using a pressure gauge to be performed between current and velocity measurements, making it a series with high cost performance. The model equipped with the Z-Cell function can emit sound waves horizontally from the sensor head, allowing for the measurement of flow around the instrument. This feature enables the measurement of flow very close to the instrument, which was difficult with conventional ADCPs. The measurement range is from less than 1 m to over 85 m. The measurement range is determined by the acoustic frequency of each model. It is equipped with many features necessary to collect accurate and effective fluid dynamics data under various environmental conditions. The pressure resistance is up to 300 meters, and it can be integrated into a frame and installed on the seabed. Sensors included for recording measurement environments: - Water temperature sensor, pressure sensor, orientation compass, tilt sensor The sensor head shape can be selected from two types depending on the installation method. Additionally, users can replace the sensors themselves. - Vertical type: Standard type, installed with the sensor standing vertically - Horizontal type: Effective when the sensor is installed lying flat on the seabed Batteries can be stored inside the main unit. Up to two dedicated alkaline battery packs or lithium battery packs can be stored. Thanks to energy-saving design, even with one alkaline battery pack, operation for about six months is possible. Example) Aquadopp Profiler 400kHz: - Measures flow direction and velocity at 20 points in the water depth direction, recording every second for 30 seconds and processing the average. - This is conducted once every hour and recorded. → Approximately 210 days of measurement possible. For high-frequency models such as 2MHz, the measurement period can be extended.
