It protects the transducer surface of the ADCP from marine organism attachment. Since it does not use chemicals, it has no environmental impact, and being film-like makes it easy to handle.
This product is made of a transparent film that uses a slippery special material, designed so that marine organisms cannot remain on the surface of the film. It does not release any substances into the ocean, thus having no impact on the environment. Additionally, it has been specially developed to adhere to the transducer material, ensuring a reliable attachment over a long period during the observation period. The transducer surface of the ADCP cannot have any enclosures that would block sound waves, as it is used for transmitting and receiving sound waves. Some soft bottom paints may be used to prevent marine organism attachment to the transducer surface, but they have the drawback of being difficult to clean and handle after observations. When shellfish attach, the energy of the sound waves is absorbed, making it impossible to achieve the original measurement range. Furthermore, if organisms with air bubbles or moisture attach, they can block most of the sound waves, leading to cases where measurements cannot be taken. Very simple attachment process: Attaching to the transducer surface should be done like a regular sticker to avoid air bubbles, and after the observation, the film can simply be peeled off to complete the task.
