Plant oil fuel dedicated catalyst Tank Tiger PS-1Q

The dedicated catalyst required for operating diesel generators using waste cooking oil and palm oil in biomass power generation is PS-1Q.

This is a plant oil-specific catalyst that enables the bonding of molecules while removing the oil molecular film from plant oils, allowing for fluidity and promoting combustion simultaneously. Not only does it enhance fluidity, but when injected into the cylinder, it becomes fine particles that diffuse and mix easily with the atmosphere, making combustion easier. Additionally, while unburned components typically remain in combustion gases, these are also burned simultaneously, reducing the generation of air pollutants such as carbon monoxide (PM), phosphorus (P), and other substances produced by incomplete combustion in exhaust gases. Carbon monoxide, due to its strong oxidizing power, causes engine oil to oxidize and deteriorate, shortening its lifespan. In biomass diesel engine generators that operate continuously for 24 hours, suppressing this oxidation is particularly important. In the oxidation process of plant oils, various oxidized substances known as "free fatty acids" are synthesized, and for palm oil, it is said that processing must occur within 48 hours of harvesting, leading to a demand for harmless and inexpensive oxidation suppression substances.

Power generation efficiency improved by 7.7%! A case where the decline in power generation due to panel dirt was improved through photocatalytic treatment.

We would like to introduce a case study of photocatalytic application as a measure to prevent dirt on solar panels. On the rooftop of a spinning factory, photocatalytic treatment was applied to one of three panels of the same specification, resulting in a 7.7% improvement in power generation efficiency for the photocatalytic panel. The degradation of power generation due to panel dirt was improved through the photocatalytic application. Additionally, it has been verified that the light transmittance of glass increased by over 3%. Can oxidize formic acid in the dark

 Photocatalysts are materials that induce redox reactions under illumination. In particular, it is effective for downhill reactions (oxidative degradation of hazardous and pollutants) and titanium oxide (TiO2) which is UV light responsive, is already in practical use. However, TiO2 photocatalytic technology is limited to small amounts and low concentrations of substances based on the solar light spectrum, and there is a problem that oxidation degradation treatment similar to that under illumination is never induced in the dark conditions.  In his research for application as a photoelectrode and photocatalyst for organic p-n junctions, the inventor found that organic p-n junctions can catalyze (= dual catalysis) the oxidation of thiols even in the dark conditions [1]. In addition, as a result of his intensive research, he succeeded in expanding the target of dual catalysis to formic acid, hydrogen peroxide, and hydrazine by supporting a cocatalyst on organic p-n junctions.  Dual catalysis is a new type of catalysis that TiO2 does not have. The selection of organic p-n junctions and co-catalysts is expected to expand the application range and market size of catalysts for environmental purification applications.

Dr. OHNO develops "visible light responsive titanium oxide nanomaterials."

We have developed a "visible light responsive titanium dioxide nanomaterial" that reacts with high performance even under weak indoor lighting!

In the development of indoor high-performance titanium dioxide, there was a significant issue that needed to be resolved. The oxidation and reduction reactions (opposite reactions) were occurring simultaneously on the surface of the photocatalyst, leading to a substantial decrease in performance due to the reverse reaction. Furthermore, the photocatalytic effect could only be activated by ultraviolet light, rendering it ineffective under indoor lighting. In response, a research team led by Professor Yokono began developing next-generation titanium dioxide materials that can exhibit photocatalytic functions under indoor light (such as LED light sources) that contains no ultraviolet rays. Short-term antibacterial ability of the photocatalytic material "Titanistar(R)"

Introducing the short-term antibacterial capabilities of photocatalytic Titanister!

We report the antibacterial test results against Escherichia coli (E. coli) using the photocatalytic material "Titanistar®." In the photocatalytic industry, tests typically last around 3 to 5 hours; therefore, we confirmed the superiority of the antibacterial reaction through a test with a short ultraviolet lamp exposure time of 1 hour. 【Results of the antibacterial test with 1 hour of ultraviolet exposure】 This time, we conducted an antibacterial test with an exposure time of 1 hour. Using a strain of E. coli, we performed the antibacterial test using the film adhesion method at a concentration of 2.5×10^S, with 1 mW/cm² BLB irradiation. The test area consisted of titanium plates treated with Titanistar, while the control area consisted of untreated pure titanium plates. After 1 hour, we could not detect any bacteria on the Titanistar-treated plates. In contrast, the number of bacteria on the untreated titanium plates showed little change. We will introduce the performance of the liquid-phase reaction system of the photocatalyst "Titanistar." ■ Decolorization of colored components in livestock wastewater - Testing institution: Kyoto Prefectural Livestock Research Institute We conducted tests to decompose colored water components treated by the activated sludge method provided by the Kyoto Prefectural Livestock Center using Titanistar. We selected pure titanium mesh material and applied the MI-C type of Titanistar's liquid-phase reaction system for the test sample. The ultraviolet intensity was set at BLB 1mW/cm², and the decolorization of the colored water was measured using a color difference meter. We will introduce the performance test of alcohol gas decomposition using the photocatalyst "Titanistar." 【Decomposition Performance of Various Alcohol Gases and Cycle Tests】 Base Material: Titanistar MI-W, Titanium plates 100mm square, and the same mesh 100mm square Gas Used: Ethyl alcohol and isopropyl gas, each at 100ppm In a 550ml quartz container, MI-W plate material and EtOH were sealed and irradiated with ultraviolet light at 1mw/cm², measuring the concentration every hour. After the concentration decreased to a certain level, a cycle test was conducted by sealing new gas to evaluate the durability performance of the photocatalytic film. Tests were also conducted using titanium mesh, IPA plates, and IPA mesh in the same manner. As a result, it was confirmed that various alcohols were decomposed, and the cycle test with new gas sealing also showed no significant difference in decomposition. The same linear configuration was treated with Titanister on non-woven materials of different thicknesses, and the decomposition of acetaldehyde gas and the measurement of reaction product concentrations were conducted to clarify the differences. ■ Used substrates - 100mm square Non-woven Fabric A, linear 60μm, 400g/m2 - 100mm square Non-woven Fabric B, linear 60μm, 1200g/m2 Both were treated with Titanister MI-W, a gas-phase reaction system type, and used as test samples.
