We will introduce the performance test of alcohol gas decomposition using the photocatalyst "Titanistar." 【Decomposition Performance of Various Alcohol Gases and Cycle Tests】 Base Material: Titanistar MI-W, Titanium plates 100mm square, and the same mesh 100mm square Gas Used: Ethyl alcohol and isopropyl gas, each at 100ppm In a 550ml quartz container, MI-W plate material and EtOH were sealed and irradiated with ultraviolet light at 1mw/cm², measuring the concentration every hour. After the concentration decreased to a certain level, a cycle test was conducted by sealing new gas to evaluate the durability performance of the photocatalytic film. Tests were also conducted using titanium mesh, IPA plates, and IPA mesh in the same manner. As a result, it was confirmed that various alcohols were decomposed, and the cycle test with new gas sealing also showed no significant difference in decomposition. What is the photocatalyst "Titanistar"? It is not a coating-type photocatalyst, nor does it use any of the raw materials employed in those types. It generates a titanium dioxide photocatalytic film on the surface of pure titanium metal simply by performing surface oxidation treatment on the titanium. This film contains no impurities and is generated without a boundary on the pure titanium. It is characterized by high photocatalytic ability and a highly durable film. What the photocatalyst "Titanistar" can solve: - Water purification and water quality improvement; however, it is not suitable for purifying highly contaminated water. - Gas purification and air cleaning. - Measures against general bacteria and various viruses. Measurement of ethyl alcohol gas decomposition and reaction products: We conducted measurements of the decomposition of EtOH gas and the concentration of reaction products in carbon dioxide.
