Measurement of the decomposition of acetaldehyde gas and the concentration of reaction products.
The pure titanium metal has a non-woven fabric-like substrate. After processing pure titanium plates into fine wires, they are thermally fused into sheet form in an inert atmosphere. The same linear configuration was treated with Titanister on non-woven materials of different thicknesses, and the decomposition of acetaldehyde gas and the measurement of reaction product concentrations were conducted to clarify the differences. ■ Used substrates - 100mm square Non-woven Fabric A, linear 60μm, 400g/m2 - 100mm square Non-woven Fabric B, linear 60μm, 1200g/m2 Both were treated with Titanister MI-W, a gas-phase reaction system type, and used as test samples. For reference, Fabric A was processed with fine wires arranged in a flat manner at 400g per square meter. Performance tests were conducted on Titanister non-woven fabrics with three times the thickness difference. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

basic information
What is the photocatalyst "Titanistar"? It is not a coating-type photocatalyst, nor does it use any of the raw materials employed in those types. By simply performing surface oxidation treatment on titanium within pure titanium metal, a titanium dioxide photocatalyst film is generated on the surface of pure titanium. This film contains no impurities and is generated without any interface with pure titanium. It is characterized by high photocatalytic ability and a highly durable film. After about 50 minutes, the gas components in non-woven fabric A were decomposed, while those in B were decomposed after about 60 minutes. However, there was a significant difference in the concentration of carbon dioxide, the reaction product. In A, the measured carbon dioxide was close to a mass balance of nearly the entire amount, while in B, only about 60% of the amount was measured. Additionally, after the test, when the odors of non-woven fabrics A and B were compared, A was odorless, while B had a vinegar-like smell. This suggests that the thicker non-woven fabric B retained gas internally and could not fully decompose. In other words, it was found that the thickness of B prevented ultraviolet light from penetrating the interior of the non-woven fabric, inhibiting the photocatalytic reaction. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.*
