Surface hardening heat treatment method "Nitriding Quenching"

Heat treatment technology that finishes thin materials without distortion and with a hard finish! Also accommodates short delivery times.

This is a new surface hardening heat treatment method that allows nitrogen to penetrate and diffuse into steel, followed by quenching from the austenite state. By introducing nitrogen and performing quenching, a surface hardness of approximately 850 HV can be achieved even with inexpensive SPCC material, and it is possible to increase hardness within the range where nitrogen has diffused internally. The amount of distortion is about half that of carburizing and nitriding quenching, and only slightly larger than gas soft nitriding. For example, in the case of cooling, if the return pipe temperature exceeds the specified level, the pump output is increased to boost the flow of chilled water. Conversely, if the temperature is below the specified level, it is determined that the cooling effect is maintained, and the flow rate is reduced, thereby minimizing unnecessary operation and reducing electricity consumption. There are a few key points: firstly, the reduction rate was significant. Secondly, after the installation of the equipment, the operating hours and electricity consumption are stored and displayed by the equipment, allowing for visualization of the benefits of the implementation. Finally, it was noted that previously, the indoor environment was either too cold or too warm, but by optimizing the chilled and hot water temperatures with the temperature sensors, these issues were resolved, leading to improved comfort.
