Ground reinforcement work | Building environmentally friendly foundations using DM method with recycled materials.
Ground reinforcement work
Advanced wings for the reuse of iron scrap and soil-free penetration without cement. A sustainable DM method that dramatically reduces environmental impact while achieving high load-bearing capacity.
GeoTech Co., Ltd. offers the "DM Method (Double Metal Method)," an environmentally friendly small-diameter steel pipe pile ground reinforcement method that achieves environmental conservation through the reuse of iron scrap and the absence of cement. In ground reinforcement work to prevent differential settlement of buildings, this method employs large ductile cast iron tip wings made from recycled materials (FOD450A), contributing to sustainable foundation construction that aligns with a decarbonized society. Since it does not use cement milk, there is no risk of soil contamination such as hexavalent chromium leaching, and no construction waste is generated due to the no-excavation method. The structure, which bolts large wings up to 3.5 times the diameter of the steel pipe, exhibits high tip support strength and has obtained GBRC performance certification (No. 10-01) from the General Incorporated Foundation Japan Building Comprehensive Testing Institute. Through strict quality inspections at its own assembly factory and real-time management of construction data, along with a nationwide network of construction association members, it provides the highest level of technical reliability and quality assurance.

basic information
The Japan Architectural Comprehensive Testing Institute has obtained the GBRC performance certification (No. 10-01). It features a structure that joins a STK400 steel pipe with a main axis diameter of 101.6mm to a tip wing made of ductile cast iron (FOD450A) recycled from iron scrap using fixed bolts. The enlarged diameters of the tip wing can be selected as 290mm (3.0 times) and 350mm (3.5 times). The applicable ground conditions are sandy and clayey soils with an equivalent N value of 5 to 15, and the maximum construction depth can accommodate up to 130 times the axis diameter (13.2m) from the construction ground surface. There is no risk of soil contamination as no cement is used.

Applications/Examples of results
It is ideal for ground reinforcement of small-scale buildings such as single-family homes, multi-family residences, and stores, which are three stories or fewer, with a height of 13 meters or less, a eave height of 9 meters or less, and a total floor area of 500 square meters or less, as well as retaining walls and structures with a height of 3.5 meters or less. Since it does not use cement solidifiers, it is particularly suitable for construction projects in environmentally protected areas that require strict consideration for groundwater and soil contamination, as well as for advanced companies engaged in ESG investment, SDGs, and environmental ISO certification. It is highly valued in sites that aim to balance low environmental impact with high structural support capacity.
