Advanced winged steel pipe ground reinforcement method that has obtained architectural technical performance certification.
This is a pile-type ground reinforcement method using small-diameter steel pipes that has received the architectural technology performance certification (GBRC Performance Certification No. 10-01) from the Japan Architectural Institute Foundation. A cast iron spiral wing (tip wing) is attached to the tip of the small-diameter steel pipe, and it is rotated and driven into the ground using a non-discharging construction method with rotation torque. Since the tip wing and steel pipe are bolted together, the welding strength does not limit the bearing capacity. The construction is low-noise and low-vibration, taking into consideration the surrounding environment, and since it does not use cement milk, there are no costs for residual soil disposal. The entire process from component manufacturing to transportation and construction has been thoroughly reviewed, achieving both high performance and excellent economic efficiency.

basic information
The main axis steel pipe uses JIS standard products (STK400) with an outer diameter of 101.6mm and a wall thickness of 4.0 to 6.0mm. The tip wings are made of spheroidal graphite cast iron (FCD450-10), available in sizes 3.0 times (290mm) or 3.5 times (350mm) the diameter of the steel pipe. The joints use SS400 mounting brackets and M20 high-strength bolts (strength classification 6.8). The applicable ground conditions are sandy and clayey soils with an equivalent N value of 5 to 15, and the maximum construction depth is below 13.2m (130 times the axis diameter). The long-term and short-term allowable vertical bearing capacities are evaluated and designed reliably and safely using a calculation formula based on SWS testing, incorporating safety factors (long-term 3, short-term 1.5) and bearing capacity coefficients ($\alpha_{sw}=200$). The manufacturing factory has obtained ISO9001 and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism certification, ensuring comprehensive quality management.

Applications/Examples of results
It is ideal for foundation ground reinforcement in the new construction and renovation of small-scale buildings and structures. The technology can be widely applied to buildings that meet all the following conditions: up to 3 stories above ground, up to 13 meters in height, eaves height of 9 meters or less, and a total floor area of 500 square meters or less. Additionally, it has a wealth of application results not only for general residential construction but also for foundation reinforcement of small-scale structures such as retaining walls and signs that are less than 3.5 meters in height. Since direct bearing capacity can be calculated from the results of the Swedish sounding (SWS) test, it can be smoothly incorporated into the design and construction process in accordance with building code regulations and notifications from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
