Ground reinforcement work | RES-P method that thoroughly considers neighbors with low noise and no soil disposal.
Ground reinforcement work
Thorough consideration for neighbors with low noise and no soil displacement! The RES-P method allows for clean construction without the use of cement, making it possible to work in densely populated areas.
To maintain the long-term safety of residences and buildings, appropriate ground reinforcement work is necessary. If construction is carried out on land with insufficient ground bearing capacity without taking measures, differential settlement will occur due to the weight of the building, leading to serious issues such as structural tilting and exterior wall cracks. The RES-P method smartly addresses these challenges with consideration for neighboring properties. This method involves driving slender steel pipes into soft ground, enhancing the supporting capacity beneath the foundation through the composite action of the ground and the pipes, and is a piled raft foundation technology. Its most notable feature is that it does not use cement solidifiers, resulting in no dust dispersion, mud stains, or construction waste. The vibrations and noise during work are extremely low, allowing for smooth construction without affecting the surrounding area, even in densely populated residential areas or narrow urban sites. Additionally, a lightweight small construction machine based on a 2-ton truck is used, enabling a clean transition to subsequent processes while maintaining the site’s leveling condition. GeoTech Co., Ltd. provides clean and reliable reinforcement work through the digitization of construction data and thorough quality management.

basic information
The steel pipe reinforcement used in this construction method is a general structural carbon steel pipe with an outer diameter of 48.6 mm and a wall thickness of 2.4 mm, which has been treated for high durability and rust prevention. The applicable structures are various small-scale buildings with up to three stories above ground, a height of up to 13 meters, and a total floor area of up to 1,500 square meters (for single-story buildings, up to 3,000 square meters). The foundation types are strip foundations with a long-term design ground pressure of 50 kN/square meter or less, as well as slab foundations with a ground pressure of 80 kN/square meter or less. The target ground is cohesive soil and sandy soil, and the construction depth can accommodate up to a maximum of 14 meters. This is a safety design specification that has obtained performance certification from the Japan Building Research Institute and evaluation from the Japan Building Center.

Applications/Examples of results
It is ideal for foundation ground reinforcement work in the construction of wooden single-family homes, low-rise apartments, and small-scale stores. It demonstrates its effectiveness in construction environments where there is a desire to prevent complaints from neighbors due to noise and vibration, especially in densely populated residential areas or on lots very close to neighboring houses. Additionally, it is well-suited for sites where the installation of cement solidifying agents is difficult due to limited space, or where there is a focus on clean construction that avoids the need for transporting construction debris and handling muddy water. The compact construction machinery is widely adopted as a ground improvement measure that balances consideration for neighbors and reliable subsidence control in construction sites with flagpole-shaped lots or narrow front roads.
