Ground reinforcement work | Building a reliable and safe foundation structure with the DM method for obtaining performance certification.
Ground reinforcement work
DM method for obtaining GBRC performance certification. With high support strength from ductile cast iron tips and bolt connections, it is ideal for ground reinforcement of retaining walls and small-scale buildings.
The "DM Method (Double Metal Method)" provided by Geotech Co., Ltd. is a steel pipe pile method that boasts high construction performance and reliability in ground reinforcement for small-scale buildings and various retaining walls. In ground reinforcement work to prevent differential settlement of buildings, this method employs a groundbreaking technology that bolts high-quality ductile cast iron tip wings to the steel pipe. By eliminating strength variations caused by welding, large wings with a maximum diameter of 350mm reliably generate tremendous tip support strength. Due to its no-excavation, low-noise, and low-vibration construction that does not use cement, it can be safely implemented even in environmentally sensitive sites. It has obtained the GBRC performance certification (No. 10-01) from the Japan Building Disaster Prevention Association, enabling advanced and rational design based on SWS testing. With strict manufacturing management at our own factory and real-time monitoring through construction management systems, along with a robust system supported by construction association members nationwide, we deliver the best ground reinforcement solutions with reliability and traceability.

basic information
The General Incorporated Foundation Japan Architectural Comprehensive Testing Institute has obtained the GBRC performance certification (No. 10-01). The main steel pipe has an outer diameter of 101.6mm (wall thickness 4.0–6.0mm, STK400), and a ductile cast iron tip wing (FOD450A) manufactured at a factory certified by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is bolted to the tip. The enlarged diameter of the tip wing is 3.0 times (290mm) and 3.5 times (350mm) the diameter of the steel pipe. The applicable ground consists of sandy soil and clay with an average equivalent N value of 5 to 15, and the maximum construction depth can accommodate up to 130 times the axis diameter (13.2m) from the construction ground surface.

Applications/Examples of results
It is ideal for small buildings such as single-family homes, apartments, and stores that are three stories or fewer, with a height of 13 meters or less, an eaves height of 9 meters or less, and a total floor area of 500 square meters or less. Furthermore, it boasts extremely high adaptability for the foundation reinforcement of small structures such as retaining walls and signs that are 3.5 meters or less in height. It is widely used in practical sites that require high structural reliability and environmental consideration, such as administrative projects that require clear evidence for confirmation applications, construction sites adjacent to old retaining walls without inspection certificates, and reinforcement work in densely populated areas where excavated soil cannot be removed from the site.
