Ultrasonic plating treatment
Ultrasonic plating treatment technology using fine bubbles and megahertz ultrasonic waves.
The Ultrasonic System Research Institute has been developing ultrasonic plating treatment technology utilizing fine bubbles and megahertz ultrasound in collaboration with Japan Barrel Industry Co., Ltd. since 2015. Note: As of August 2024, it is continuously evolving based on good results into various application technologies. 1) Cleaning, processing, welding, plating... surface treatment... 2) Chemical reactions, liquid homogenization, stirring... 3) Inspection, evaluation... 4) Optimization control of ultrasound and fine bubbles tailored to specific purposes. Currently, in collaboration with Japan Barrel Industry Co., Ltd., we are developing application technologies utilizing ultrasound and fine bubbles for iron plating treatment (iron powder, amorphous, megahertz ultrasound...). If you are interested, please contact us via email. Ultrasonic propagation characteristics: 1) Detection of vibration modes (changes in autocorrelation) 2) Detection of nonlinear phenomena (changes in bispectrum) 3) Detection of response characteristics (analysis of impulse response characteristics) 4) Detection of interactions (analysis of power contribution rates)

Applications/Examples of results
Case Studies and Achievements 1. Plating defects are less likely to occur on heavily soiled metals or difficult materials! 2. The occurrence of leaching defects, which was at 1.6% before equipment installation, has been reduced to zero! 3. Various contaminants and defects attached to the materials have been removed, resulting in improved surface cleanliness and uniformity! 4. The relaxation of surface residual stress has increased metal fatigue strength! The introduction of equipment has also contributed to the realization of processes that consider environmental impact reduction. Reduction in the use of environmentally harmful cleaning agents and chemicals in the cleaning process! Reduction in the use of alkaline agents for degreasing and hydrochloric acid for pickling! Chemical concentration reduced from 60g/L to 40g/L. Reduction in energy consumption through short-time, room temperature processing! No change in defect rate even after reducing degreasing treatment time from 30 minutes to 15 minutes. Processing temperature changed from 80°C to 50°C. Improvement in cleaning capability has led to reduced load on wastewater treatment and waste reduction! No re-adhesion of oil due to structural improvements in the degreasing tank. The utilization of ultrasound involves applying feedback analysis technology based on a multivariate autoregressive model, using a technique to measure, analyze, and evaluate the propagation state of ultrasound, confirming and evaluating the propagation state of ultrasound according to its intended use.
