Free membership registrationBy combining visual inspection, non-contact scanning, and physical probing, we meet the stringent reliability standards in the medical device field, achieving both quality improvement and cost reduction. 【Implementation Achievements】 - Achieved 100% inspection in inline testing, ensuring product quality. - Enhanced defect detection capabilities for large substrates and complex design boards through collaboration with boundary scan technology. 【Challenges Faced by Customers】 Limitations of APT alone: Flying probe testers excel in electrical characteristic testing, but physical access for probing is difficult with components like BGAs and QFPs where pin connections are hidden. In high-density boards, there are areas that cannot be fully covered by probing alone. Constraints of AOI: Cannot detect defects (such as solder bridges or connection failures) located beneath BGAs or large components. Internal connections and micro-short circuits in multilayer boards cannot be detected. In large substrates, there are areas that exceed the field of view, making it difficult to efficiently inspect the entire area. Challenges with large substrates and complex designs: In large substrates, inspection time tends to increase for both AOI and APT, leading to decreased productivity. Efficient inspection systems combining physical probing and non-contact inspection are necessary for 100% inspection of high-density mounted boards.

Free membership registration*What is RFID? RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a system that transmits and receives electromagnetic waves or radio waves between RF tags and RFID readers (reading devices), allowing for the non-contact reading and rewriting of information on RF tags. Common examples of RFID applications include transportation IC cards, electronic money, and its adoption in various industries such as manufacturing, distribution, retail, and healthcare. RFID can read multiple RF tags simultaneously as long as they are within the range of radio waves. Therefore, it is gaining attention as a technology that can replace barcodes and QR codes, which require individual scanning. *Features of RFID RFID has excellent features that barcodes do not possess, such as non-contact bulk reading and the ability to read tags that are hidden. On the downside, it can be affected by metals and moisture, and it may read items that do not need to be scanned. Although the cost of RFID tags has been decreasing in recent years, there is still a significant cost difference compared to barcodes. It is important to understand the characteristics of each technology and choose the one that fits the challenges and operations you want to address.

Free membership registrationOPC UA (OPC Unified Architecture) is an open international standard developed for safe and reliable data exchange in industries such as industrial automation. It was announced by the OPC Foundation in 2008 and later standardized as IEC62541. It enables secure and highly reliable data exchange across various types of devices, operating systems, and manufacturers, making it recommended as the standard communication for Industrie 4.0 and increasingly adopted worldwide. Additionally, it is aligned with the international standard for PLCs, IEC61131-3, providing the advantage of high reliability in exchanging information from the manufacturing site with higher-level monitoring control systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). In response to this trend, Takaya has prepared an option to equip the APT series of flying probe testers with an OPC UA server. We are working to promote the adoption of industrial IoT standards that bridge FA equipment and IT.

Since the reader/writer is autonomous, there is no need for a control PC or software development for both HF and UHF bands. Record management of items taken out with just a touch "Item Management System" Utilizing IC tags to reliably record the history of items taken out and returned, preventing omissions and errors in ledger entries, and supporting early detection of forgotten returns and losses. Efficient inventory checks are possible through bulk reading with RFID handheld devices. Many other exhibits are also planned.

Free membership registrationIn recent years, with the promotion of work style reform, there has been an increasing demand for improved productivity and the correction of long working hours, necessitating companies to accurately grasp the actual working hours and tasks of their employees. However, the accuracy of data collection remains unclear. Particularly in the manufacturing industry, many cases still rely on handwritten forms, leading to challenges in accurately capturing performance information due to omissions or errors in entries. Against this backdrop, our company has developed an "RFID Work Performance Collection System" that allows performance data to be transmitted simply by placing an RFID tag on an autonomous RFID reader. Since there is no need to record each start and completion of work, workers can naturally and accurately log their working hours without being consciously aware of it. This ease of collecting performance data allows for more time to be allocated to data analysis, enabling effective use of the information for reviewing personnel allocation and understanding and improving the status of each process as part of profit improvement data.

Free membership registrationConventional self-sounding tags respond (issue an alarm) when they receive signals from security gates installed at store entrances and exits. This Wi-dimo uses a "reverse thinking" approach, where the self-sounding tag issues an alarm when it moves away from the signal area. (When the self-sounding tag is returned to the signal area, the alarm automatically stops.) As a result, it is now possible to monitor display items that were previously secured with wires wirelessly, and to make tags that only reacted at the final exit issue alarms inside the store, allowing for smoother customer engagement.
