Free membership registrationThe details of the product we are introducing this time are as follows: JIS (Plating) Type: 90E(S) Material: PY400 Size: 1500A (60 inches) Thickness: 7.9mm This is a plated product of a large-diameter welded pipe fitting as specified by the customer. In particular, processing of hot-dip galvanized products such as 1500A (60 inches) is not easy and is a high-difficulty product. Benkan Kiko also manufactures large-diameter products. 《Manufacturing Range》 Size: up to 2000A (80 inches) Thickness: up to 120mm *Please note that this varies by type, so for details, please contact us. Pipe fittings made from steel pipes as the material can be difficult to obtain depending on the size, making them unsuitable for manufacturing large-diameter products. The production of large-diameter pipe fittings can be achieved by forming and welding from steel plates.

Free membership registrationThere are cases where "polishing" is required for the surface finish specifications of welded pipe fittings, and particularly for stainless steel products, a glossy and smooth finish is achieved through "buff polishing." "Buff polishing" is a method that uses a polishing tool equipped with cotton, felt, or wool called a "buff," along with a paste-like polishing material, to smooth the surface, especially when a mirror finish is required. Buff polishing has classifications of "roughness," expressed as a certain grade number. Generally, the larger the number, the higher the grade, resulting in a glossier surface on the product. At Benkan Kiko, regardless of buff polishing finish, we accommodate surface grade specifications not only with the polishing material grade but also with surface roughness parameters (Ra, Rmax, etc.), roughness symbols, evaluations using comparison test pieces, and evaluations using surface roughness gauges, allowing us to meet surface grade requirements tailored to specific applications. If polishing is necessary for welded pipe fittings in piping design, please feel free to contact us. <Varieties> - Elbows, T, reducers, caps, stub ends <Materials> - We can accommodate various materials including SUS304, SUS304L, SUS316, SUS316L, and others.

Free membership registrationA stub end is a welded pipe fitting that has a flange at the end and is used in combination with a loose flange. Instead of rotating the pipe itself, the loose flange is rotated, allowing for the bolt hole positions to be freely adjusted, which improves the workability on site during installation. This product is used in a wide range of applications, primarily in low-pressure piping, such as water supply and drainage systems and factory piping. It is particularly popular in paper mills. In addition to standard products, we also offer custom items tailored to customer specifications, so please leave it to Benkan Kiko. We can accommodate products with flange diameters other than 10K, including 5K and 20K, as well as products with dimensions that differ from standard specifications and serration processing. Leveraging our strength in manufacturing at our domestic factories, we respond flexibly to customer requests. "If you need a specific height" or "Can you make this flange diameter?" Please feel free to reach out to us.

Free membership registration"I want to join the pipe fittings and support materials, but I'm concerned about strength and thermal effects, so I don't want to attach them to the main body of the pipe fitting. Welding and attaching a PAD (backing plate) to the pipe fitting on-site is cumbersome." In such cases, please do not hesitate to contact Benkan Kiko. By attaching a PAD (backing plate) to the necessary parts in piping support structures (horizontal and vertical loads), we can enable the joining of the PAD section and the support material. However, manufacturing pipe fittings with PADs is not easy. The PAD and the pipe fitting are produced separately through plastic processing, but welding them together so that they fit perfectly requires a very difficult task known as PAD shape correction. Benkan Kiko has three domestic factories (five locations) and various know-how accumulated by skilled craftsmen who hone their skills there. There have been cases where pipe fittings with PADs, which were deemed technically difficult during the consideration stage, were made possible by pooling wisdom and technology across factories. Although the PAD (backing plate) attached welded pipe fittings are custom-made and unique, please consider contacting Benkan Kiko when you are evaluating your options.

Free membership registrationThe pipeline has not only straight sections but also bends and branching parts. The guide plate that allows the pig to pass smoothly through the branching section without getting caught on the branch side is called a guide bar (pig bar). At Benkan Kiko, we manufacture elbows used in the bending parts of pipelines and T (tee) fittings used in branching parts, but the T fitting with a bar attached to the branching part is referred to as a T fitting with a guide bar. Regarding the guide bar, there are various know-how related to its shape and installation method, and welding to the T fitting body often needs to be performed using a welding method (welding construction method) approved based on regulations such as the Gas Business Act. Benkan Kiko has obtained many welding construction methods based on regulatory requirements such as the Gas Business Act and the Electric Utility Act, allowing us to respond to various cases. In addition to being able to accommodate various shapes of guide bar installations according to customer requests, we can also procure the materials for the guide bars ourselves. Furthermore, we are qualified to conduct various tests and inspections on the welding parts of the guide bars. Source of pig photo: JFE Engineering Corporation.

Free membership registrationElbows are specified in the JIS standard as types of shapes such as 90° elbows, 45° elbows, and 180° elbows. In cases where the design of the piping cannot accommodate those angles, the JIS standard recognizes "special angle elbows," which can be manufactured at special angles as needed for piping design. Elbows manufactured at special intermediate angles such as 60°, 30°, and 135° are referred to as "special angle (end angle) elbows." At Benkan Kiko, we respond meticulously to customer requests and support the custom manufacturing of end angle elbows. **Benefits of adopting Benkan Kiko's end angle elbows:** - If elbows are processed on-site during piping installation, the product warranty for those fittings will be voided, so it is safer to manufacture them at the required angles in advance. - Processing elbows to specific angles or bevel ends on-site requires equipment and expertise, so using pre-processed products is safer. - Products can be manufactured with dimensional accuracy based on JIS standards. - We can issue manufacturing drawings and delivery drawings that include detailed dimensions of the products as per your requests.

Free membership registrationAt Benkan Kiko, we have a wealth of experience in the manufacturing of aluminum and aluminum alloy pipe fittings. Characteristics of Aluminum: - It is lightweight and easy to process, but has low strength. - It has good thermal conductivity. - Its toughness does not decrease at low temperatures, making it suitable for use in extremely low temperatures such as liquid hydrogen at -252.7°C. - It has excellent weather resistance due to the formation of an oxide film when it reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere; however, this oxide film can be destroyed in acidic or alkaline environments, particularly in the presence of chloride ions or alkaline conditions. Due to these characteristics, aluminum is a material that is difficult to shape and weld. However, it offers significant advantages such as corrosion resistance and maintaining toughness at low temperatures, making it suitable for piping in harsh corrosive environments like seawater, as well as for extremely low-temperature piping and tanks for liquefied natural gas and liquid hydrogen. At Benkan Kiko, we have established molding and welding techniques through years of accumulated technology and know-how, enabling us to manufacture with delicate materials like aluminum. Additionally, based on our extensive experience and achievements, we can flexibly address various problem-solving needs. Please feel free to consult or request our services with confidence.

Free membership registrationAmong the various tests associated with pipe fittings, there is a "mechanical test" that examines the mechanical properties of the product. One of these, the "hardness test," measures hardness by pressing a hard indenter (such as diamond) into the surface of a test piece or product with a constant load using a hardness testing machine. There are several types of "hardness tests," and Benkan Kiko is capable of accommodating each of them. The types of hardness tests include the following: ▻ Brinell hardness test (HBW) ▻ Vickers hardness test (HV) ▻ Rockwell hardness test (HRCW or HRBW, etc.) Benkan Kiko has extensive experience in mechanical testing, and we accept requests not only for tests associated with pipe fittings but also for mechanical tests alone. If you have any concerns, please feel free to consult us. Details of the tests are explained in detail on our company blog.

Free membership registrationA tapered pipe refers to a piping product with different cross-sectional areas at the inlet and outlet. There are similar products called reducers, but reducers have standardized lengths and steps. However, in piping construction, there may be cases where products with lengths and steps that differ from the standards are required. In such cases, tapered pipes can be utilized. Additionally, while there is a manufacturing method that involves machining steel materials, for large-diameter products, considering material and processing costs, tapered pipes manufactured by welding steel plates offer cost advantages. At Benkan Kiko, we can manufacture from a single piece in small lots, and we can produce according to customer requests and various conditions regarding diameter, plate thickness, wall thickness, length, etc. Furthermore, we can also manufacture using materials such as carbon steel, high-strength steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals like aluminum. For more details, please feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationA tapered pipe is a piping product manufactured from steel plates, featuring a slope and longitudinal weld seam, and refers to anything other than a reducer in the standards for welded pipe fittings. Reducers have specifications for product height (length) and step differences (the difference in diameters of the connecting pipes), but during piping installation, there may be cases where products with different heights or step differences from the standards are required. In such cases, tapered pipes can be utilized. Short pipes can also be supplied as needed, with the required length and end processing for short steel pipe components necessary for piping design. These products contribute to reducing construction time and improving on-site construction efficiency for our customers. Please consult us regarding diameter, plate thickness (product thickness), length, etc. Additionally, materials can be manufactured from carbon steel, high-strength steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum. Both tapered pipes and short pipes can be ordered from a single small lot. Tapered pipes can accommodate both concentric and eccentric designs. In addition to piping applications, how about considering them for steel structures or welded structures? We can provide various proposals based on your requests and conditions, so please feel free to contact us for more details.

Free membership registrationThe name "Monaka" originates from a type of Japanese confectionery called "monaka," which consists of two wafers filled with sweet bean paste. 1. Enhanced facilities enable the production of products tailored to your needs When manufacturing large-diameter elbows, a method may be employed that combines steel pipes known as "maita bends" and "ebi pipes" to create elbow shapes. The Monaka manufacturing process requires molds and high-output pressing machines. Our facilities are well-equipped, allowing us to produce products that meet our customers' requirements. 2. Fewer weld seams reduce the risk of welding defects Due to the manufacturing method of combining steel pipes through welding, maita bends tend to have many weld seams, resulting in increased inspections. Our elbows have only two weld seams along the length, significantly fewer than maita bends, thereby reducing the need for inspections on weld seams and minimizing the quality risks associated with welded joints, allowing for safer usage. 3. Smooth shape minimizes the impact on fluids Maita bends have an angular shape due to the combination of steel pipes, while our formed elbows have a smooth R shape, which minimizes the impact on fluids. We can accommodate various materials (for details, please refer to the section below), so please feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe received an order for products for the replacement work of elbows with long seam welds, which we supplied several decades ago, for the after-service project at the Nagasaki Plant of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. for their thermal power plant. This project involved the on-site replacement of aging piping used under high temperature and high pressure conditions. However, instead of supplying the same elbows as before, we provided a new product that incorporates many advantages, which was well received. The specifications of the product that were appreciated are as follows: - Seamless elbows to eliminate long seam welds. - To reduce the workload within the engineering manufacturer, a hydraulic pressure test was conducted at Benkan Kiko at a pressure of 1.3 times the design pressure. - To facilitate easy replacement work on-site, lifting fixtures were installed. By conducting the hydraulic pressure test at 1.3 times the design pressure in advance at Benkan Kiko, we can avoid the risk of performing a hydraulic pressure test at 1.3 times the design pressure on aging piping. We have confirmed and experienced effects such as delivery management and workload reduction, and we have received high evaluations, including subsequent orders for after-service projects under the same scheme.

Free membership registrationBulge forming (hydroforming) is a method of processing materials by applying high internal pressure and axial load (axial pushing) to a pipe material (such as steel pipes) placed in a mold, deforming it into a shape that conforms to the mold. It is a plastic processing technique using various alloy steel pipes, including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass. Using bulge forming offers the following advantages: 1. It allows for integral forming, enabling complex shapes to be created. This improves the rigidity of the processed products and leads to enhanced quality. 2. It enables material thickening forming, allowing for right-angle bends in steel pipes, which can reduce processing time and increase processing speed. Thus, it is a forming method that allows for complex shapes while also achieving cost reductions. Our company is capable of manufacturing welded pipe fittings, including T (tee), special T (tee) at 45° YT, crosses, laterals, and more. We also accept inquiries for welded pipe fittings tailored to customer needs in terms of material, diameter, and thickness, as well as the production of special items, so please feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationRadiographic Testing (RT) is a non-destructive testing method that allows inspection without damaging the product, making it possible to examine invisible internal defects. RT is primarily conducted to detect defects in the longitudinal welds of joints, and it can be applied to products with wall thicknesses ranging from a few millimeters to over 100 mm. We can also accommodate products for which RT is required by regulations such as the Electric Utility Industry Law, Gas Utility Industry Law, and High-Pressure Gas Safety Law, as well as those requested by customers. Additionally, considering the test specimen and the defects to be detected, we implement appropriate testing by selecting and combining various methods, including Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT), in addition to RT. We are also able to respond to various testing requests from customers, so please feel free to consult with us.
