We proposed the bottom-opening type of KMβ dewatering bag for the chemical manufacturer who expressed a desire to easily extract crystals using a top-discharge centrifuge.

We received a request from chemical manufacturer O for an easier way to extract crystals using a top discharge centrifuge. We proposed our top discharge centrifuge KMβ with a bottom-open type basket without a flange for the dewatering bag. In a top discharge centrifuge, the operator must manually remove the solids. However, this is quite labor-intensive, and the difficulty increases if the solids are hard. Furthermore, when it comes to medium-sized machines around 42 inches, the solids to be removed can exceed 100 kg. To alleviate this heavy labor, we considered the bottom-open type for the dewatering bag.

We received an inquiry from Company K, a manufacturer that produces numerous chemicals, stating, "We would like a centrifuge for testing purposes. Since it will be used for multiple applications, it would be great to have a design that allows for easy opening and closing of the casing, is easy to clean, and has a solid interlock system." In response, we proposed and delivered a centrifuge equipped with a "casing opening and closing device (handle type)," "various interlock functions," and a "top cover lock cylinder." As a result of using our centrifuge, the time required for cleaning, which previously involved heavy lifting to remove the casing for product changes, has been reduced to just a few seconds, significantly improving time, cost, and work efficiency. Most importantly, we have heard from the operators that the workload has decreased significantly, making it quite valuable to them. Additionally, for this project, we opted for a manual opening and closing device using a reduction gear instead of hydraulic drive due to the machine's size. [Case Study] I want a centrifuge suitable for lab-scale testing.

Examples of the delivery of centrifuges that allow for separation testing in research and development conditions, and where the movement and installation of the equipment can be made as simple as possible.

We received an inquiry from Company D, a contract manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, asking, "Do you have a centrifuge capable of performing separation tests for research and development conditions? Additionally, is there a model that allows for easy movement and installation of the equipment?" In response, we proposed our laboratory centrifuge model LAC-2000, which they adopted. Considering the possibility of testing with very small sample sizes, we suggested a configuration that allows for the installation of a basket from model LAC-400. This design enables adjustments in capacity based on sample volume and slurry characteristics, thereby reducing test time. As a result of introducing our centrifuge, they reported that the ability to conduct repeated separation tests with small sample sizes significantly shortened the time required for condition setting. Regarding the detachment and disassembly of the basket for cleaning, traditional centrifuges typically require specialized knowledge and tools. However, our LAC-2000 allows for easy detachment with standard tools, which has also reduced the burden on operators. Its compact size makes it suitable for laboratory installation, and it can be used in various locations with a 100V power supply.
