[Case Study] Dust Prevention in Clean Rooms [Pharmaceutical Manufacturer]

"I want to create a mechanism that does not generate dust in the clean room." This eliminates dust generation from sliding, making it possible to keep the work area clean.

■We want to create a mechanism that does not generate dust in the clean room.■ We received a request from Company M, a manufacturer engaged in pharmaceutical research and development, stating, "Regarding the research centrifuge to be installed in the clean room, we would like to eliminate mechanisms that could potentially generate dust in order to prevent contamination." In response, we proposed the KMβ model with a "direct drive type" motor positioned directly under the main shaft, instead of the usual V-belt drive system. ■Results of the implementation■ Since there is no V-belt for driving, dust generation due to sliding has been eliminated, allowing us to keep the work area clean. Additionally, we were able to eliminate the hassle of belt adjustments and potential issues such as belt breakage due to long-term use. ↓ For more details, please check the basic information.

How to Choose a Centrifuge You Can't Ask About Now

You can easily find out the recommended model of centrifuge by simply selecting options like "yes" and "no." *Materials will be provided.

I want to inquire about centrifuges, but there are so many different types that I don't know which model to look at! Which one should I consider?" "How should I choose a centrifuge in the first place?" --Do you have such questions? Choosing a centrifuge is difficult to explain in a general way. This is because the flow of liquid and the discharge structure within the centrifuge vary depending on the size and characteristics of the particles in the liquid, as well as the viscosity of the liquid itself, making predictions challenging. Therefore, we recommend conducting tests with the actual centrifuge to select the appropriate one. Additionally, various factors influence how to use the centrifuge, how often to clean the machine, whether the materials being processed are toxic when in contact with people, and where in the factory to install it. However, this time, we will introduce a way to easily select a model by sequentially considering aspects such as "how to use it" and "points of emphasis.

[Case Study] We want to increase the processing capacity per unit in the construction of a new building.

We proposed the MARKβ, a top-driven bottom-discharge centrifuge, to Company M, a manufacturer of chemical raw materials, which boasts the largest processing capacity in our company.

As a result of using our centrifuge, we have received feedback that both production efficiency and output have increased. Typically, the maximum processing capacity for the MARK 3 (top image) at the maximum size of 60-40 inches is 940 liters. However, after consultation between our technical department and the customer, we designed it to increase the capacity to 1027 liters. Additionally, to shorten processing time, we proposed a large scraping blade called the "1-Motion Scraper" that performs only the rotation motion, instead of the usual 2-motion (up and down, rotation) scraping device, along with a "Scraping Air Blow" that uses high-pressure air to dislodge the crystals. **Features** - **Special Basket Design**: By designing a special basket size different from existing sizes, we increased the processing capacity. - **1-Motion Scraper**: Instead of the usual two motions of rotation and elevation, we equipped a large scraper that matches the height of the basket, allowing for crystal scraping with just one rotational motion, thus achieving a reduction in scraping time. - **Scraping Air Blow**: By injecting air from the scraping device, we promote the dislodging of crystals with air pressure in addition to the usual scraping effect, further reducing scraping time.

[Case Study] We want to introduce a fully automatic centrifuge that complies with GMP standards.

We will solve the issue of a pharmaceutical company that manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, which wants to introduce a fully automatic centrifuge specialized in cleaning efficiency!

For users engaged in small-lot, multi-variety production, it is required to ensure ease of product changeover, cleaning between batches, and confirmation of cleaning. This time, in addition to the casing opening and closing mechanism, we propose our optional CIP cleaning and basket lift-up device. (1) Casing opening and closing mechanism (2) In-machine CIP cleaning device (3) Basket lift-up mechanism By implementing CIP cleaning, it is possible to reduce the cleaning workload. Additionally, depending on the product, there may be a risk of exposure to highly pharmacologically active powders and liquids for the operator. However, by conducting CIP cleaning in a sealed state, it is possible to reduce the risk of exposure during opening. The basket lift-up mechanism is an option that significantly improves the operability of the underside of the basket, which was difficult to inspect visually or through swab testing with conventional centrifuges. It allows for easier swab cleaning and visual confirmation, thereby reducing the burden on operators during cleaning. 【Benefits】 ■ Reduction of operator workload in the cleaning process ■ More concrete risk management regarding exposure ■ Increased cleaning efficiency allows for a greater number of items to be covered by a single centrifuge, resulting in improved production efficiency.
