Case Study of Lithium for Forklifts: 3PL Logistics Center

Comparison of 560Ah and 280Ah Lithium: Case Study of Lithium-Ion Battery Replacement Service for Forklifts

At the 3PL logistics center, we were using two 1.5-ton counterbalance forklifts (FBT15PN-80B) equipped with 390Ah48V lead-acid batteries, operating 24 hours a day. However, the batteries needed to be replaced approximately every three years, resulting in high costs. To address this, we introduced one unit each of 560Ah48V and 280Ah48V lithium-ion batteries for comparison, using one rapid charger and one onboard charger for charging. As a result, we found that the 560Ah lithium capacity had about a 20% longer operating time. [Comparison Results] ■ Lithium Capacity Comparison - The 560Ah has about a 20% longer operating time. ■ Lead-Acid Batteries - Insufficient charging time during use was a major reason for the three-year lifespan. - With the introduction of lithium, if sufficient charging time can be secured for lead-acid batteries, an extension of their lifespan can be expected. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study of Lithium Introduction] Trials at Other Factories of the Introduced Box Manufacturing Plant

Costs for water replenishment operations and purified water can also be reduced! Due to its long lifespan, you can save over 70% in annual costs.

We would like to introduce a trial case from another factory that implemented the lithium-ion battery replacement service for forklifts conducted by our company. Compared to other factories, the downtime for forklifts is less, and even with intermediate charging, the battery level decreases. Due to continuous high-density operation, lead batteries are under stress, resulting in a shorter lifespan. Therefore, we introduced lithium-ion batteries. By operating one unit for 24 hours, we can reduce the number of forklifts by 50%. Additionally, due to their longer lifespan, we can reduce costs by over 70% annually. 【Measurement Overview】 ■ Measurement Period: May 11, 2021 - May 27, 2021 ■ Industry: Manufacturing ■ Location: Saitama Prefecture ■ Forklift Model: 7FB15 ■ Lead Battery: 485Ah 48V ■ Lithium-ion Battery Capacity: 560Ah 48V *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Introduction to the benefits and excellent features of lithium!

Rapid charging possible in 1/4 the time of lead! Contributing to the Earth's environment with zero harmful substances.

Here are the benefits of using lithium. There are two types of lithium: lithium iron phosphate and lithium cobalt oxide. However, for forklift batteries, it is clear that lithium iron phosphate is more suitable from a safety perspective. Lithium iron phosphate ion batteries can achieve fast charging and high current discharge, and their cycle life at 80% discharge is about four times that of lead batteries. In addition to good charging efficiency, they also eliminate the need for water replenishment, leading to cost savings on distilled water and labor. 【Features】 - 70% reduction in annual costs - Lifespan is three times that of lead - Can be rapidly charged in a quarter of the time of lead - One lithium battery can operate a unit fully for 24 hours - No need for water replenishment - Zero harmful substances, contributing to the global environment *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
