Magnetic filter that eliminates the true threats of fluid systems.

What is the true threat to fluid systems? What is the "chain reaction of wear"? Introducing an innovative approach to improve system reliability. Essential information for safety measures.

Did you know? 80-90% of the products manufactured worldwide are made of carbon steel. This becomes ultra-hard and ultra-sharp carbon steel fine powder due to wear from operation, and when it moves freely through the fluid system circulation, a destructive process called "wear chain reaction" occurs. Magnum reliably captures these iron fine particles, which are threats that conventional filtration systems (filter-element type and magnetic type) could not address. Moreover, once captured, the contaminants cannot escape. There is also no clogging, which is common with filters. Is such a thing possible? It is. Its effectiveness has been proven in many field applications.

Magnet filters for wind power plants.

Report on the installation example of the lubrication system for wind power plant gearboxes. For the safety and reliability of fluid systems where regular inspections are difficult due to installation environments, such as offshore.

A Magnum has been adopted for the lubrication line of a 750 kW generator's gearbox located in Sweden. A Magnom Clear 5" was installed downstream of an existing 10-micron filter, and after six months of normal operation, when the internal core was removed, a significant amount of contamination, including metal wear particles as small as 0.2 microns, was found, surprising those involved. Such fine metal contamination can trigger a wear chain in the gearbox, demonstrating the performance of the Magnum filter, which can efficiently and safely remove it. Wind power is relatively efficient, converting about 30-40% of the kinetic energy of wind into electrical energy, making it difficult to emit greenhouse gases, and is therefore attracting attention as one of the measures for SDGs. However, due to the difficulty of regular inspections depending on the installation location (such as offshore), the safety and reliability of fluid systems are particularly important.

Magnetic filter (filtration device)

The cooling system for power generation plants is important to ensure that equipment operates properly with the appropriate filters, preventing equipment failure and unplanned production stoppages.

Efficient magnetic filters play a significant role in improving the performance of filtration devices and filter systems/fluid control, enhancing/reducing the running costs of systems, and increasing operational efficiency. They have improved the reliability of systems at nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic. They were introduced to reduce failures of various mechanical devices, such as electric valves in steam lines, which were previously considered impossible to address. Magnum was introduced in the steam generator blowdown sample line of steam generator number 4 at the nuclear power plant. This area is of great interest to plant owners and operators from the perspectives of efficiency (energy is wasted during the blowdown process, but the efficiency of the steam generator improves) and safety (especially in nuclear power plants, where the entire steam generation process is strictly managed). In the future, it will be necessary to further increase power generation efficiency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (carbon dioxide). Before the installation of Magnum, contaminants continued to circulate through conventional filters (most of which were smaller than 1 micron). These hard and sharp metal particles likely caused cascading wear, eroding all valves and stationary parts of the system, thus threatening the overall safety of the nuclear power plant.

Magnetic filter that does not clog the lubrication system of aircraft jet engine gearboxes.

◆High-speed rotating jet engines operate in harsh environments. The important gearbox that assists the jet engine in functioning properly. Lubricating oil must always be supplied to each mechanism and circulate smoothly. The challenge was how to efficiently remove submicron-level hard metal particles suspended in the lubricating oil. ◆Introduction Story The development project for a magnetic filter for the lubrication line of the gearbox, which is essential for jet engines, started upon receiving a development request from Rolls-Royce. After more than 10 years of extensive research and testing, it finally received certification as official equipment. And it was eventually adopted for the Trent 500 turbofan jet engine for the Airbus A340. The magnetic filter, Magnum, contributes to the safety of air travel.

A Powerful Ally for Gearbox Protection: Steel Mill Edition - Special Magnetic Filter

Originally developed to improve the durability of F1 race engines, the magnetic filter is effective in protecting the lubrication circuit of the cold rolling line in steel mills.

By introducing "Magnum" into the line, we can significantly reduce costs such as repair expenses, parts costs, and downtime. "Magnum" was originally developed to improve the durability of F1 racing transmissions. This is a performance report from a major steel company in Malaysia with a site area of 500 acres. Here, they were troubled by the accumulation of iron contamination in the transmission lubrication circuit of the cold rolling line. Even with two existing filter systems, fine iron contaminants remained in the bearing lubrication circuit. With the introduction of Magnum, it was confirmed that a visibly large amount of iron contamination was captured in just 16 days! Following the trial of Magnum, the maintenance manager was convinced of the effectiveness of Magnum technology based on survey results showing improved oil cleanliness. From the good test results, they decided to purchase an additional seven units for other lines. Our maintenance team was relieved to be able to remove the most harmful iron dust from the line by introducing Magnum, finally putting an end to the chain of wear.

The strongest ally of small construction vehicles - special magnet filters -

We will completely solve the long-standing issue of small work vehicles equipped with HST that cannot use standard circuit filters! Here is an introduction to an affordable, compact, and easy-to-install product.

The HST allows for stepless speed changes and switching between neutral, forward, and reverse with a single lever operation. However, due to the high-pressure hydraulic lines and the structure that causes the oil flow direction to switch bi-directionally every time the work vehicle moves forward and backward, a standard circuit filter cannot be used. A device with two sets of high-pressure filter housings, each equipped with a check valve, is necessary, but there are the following challenges: - It requires a large installation space. - It incurs significantly high costs. In small systems, the only countermeasure that can be implemented is to install a strainer at the outlet of the reserve tank at best. As a result, we have been unable to find appropriate countermeasures for problems caused by fine iron-based contaminants suspended in the oil. Magnum solves these issues all at once: - It is compact, easy to install, and very inexpensive. - It can be directly connected to bi-directional lines. - There is almost no pressure loss even when it becomes full of contaminants. - Captured iron-based fine particles do not reflow downstream. - It is suitable for high-pressure lines (guaranteed pressure 6000 psi). - It captures 99.97% of iron-based contaminants at the 10um level. Please give it a try.

Active at the crushed stone site - Special Magnet Filter -

The harsh working environment and the impact of metal contamination on work vehicles are not surprising. Special magnetic filters are also playing a role here.

The harsh working environments of mines and quarries can cause even high-quality machinery to fail early in their lifespan. Additionally, excessive downtime due to failures is common in excavation operations. The special magnetic filter "Magnum" reliably captures submicron iron-based particles that are difficult to remove with existing filter systems, preventing pressure loss, clogging, and re-emission. It also demonstrates excellent effectiveness in heavy machinery operating on the front lines of the site, such as large excavators and roof bolters, which are affected by metal contamination in hydraulic systems. Please try the "Magnum," which is performing well in overseas sites.

What is the affordable and reliable magnet filter MAGNOM?

How about adding patented technology for the removal of the most dangerous contaminants in fluid systems (the hardest, sharpest, and smallest contaminants) to inexpensive filtration units?

The engineering design company Magnom from England proposes to solve a significant portion of the causes of catastrophic failures in fluid systems by removing iron-based microparticles. The reason conventional filters have been unsuccessful in this removal is highlighted by the fact that traditional filtration technologies do not consider the threats posed by the size of contaminant particles. Magnom's patented technology is used in inexpensive filtration units that are added to conventional mechanical mesh filters. Magnom is widely active in hundreds of applications around the world, ranging from F1 racing cars, where fluid purity is essential to prevent wear and maintain efficiency, to closed-loop systems like household heating appliances that reduce the accumulation of iron powder in heat exchangers to improve overall fuel efficiency.

Special magnet filter

Special magnetic filters are widely used in quenching and scale removal processes at steel mills around the world to suppress iron-based contamination and in lubricants and hydraulic equipment.

Quenching and descaling operations at the steel mill The issues of fine contamination such as iron and steel chips, rust, and iron oxide are caused by the quenching and scaling removal processes. Effective magnetic filters in the steel industry provide significant benefits in improving the performance of water circulation systems, cooling systems, filtration devices, filter systems, and fluid adjustments, playing a major role in improving and reducing system running costs, extending the lifespan of system components, enhancing reliability, and increasing critical uptime. Magnum is a simple and effective technology. In the "quenching" process, steel is heated for a certain period to harden it, and then rapidly cooled by immersing it in water or oil. However, an important step is that the water used causes the scale on the surface of the steel to flake off. This contaminates the fluid systems such as cooling water. The water is typically sent to a large settling tank, where larger chips settle out. However, smaller chips and contaminants are recirculated and reintroduced into the system and process. As a result, this can lead to blockages in valves, rotary couplings, pumps, and spray nozzles.

A Powerful Ally for Gearbox Protection: Power Plant Edition - Special Magnetic Filter -

Achievements developed in the harsh and demanding environment of F1 racing. Please see the field report on the gearbox of a coal pulverizer operating in a power plant.

"Magnum" was originally developed to improve the durability of transmissions in the harsh conditions of F1 racing. It was later proven to make a significant contribution to the protection of large gearboxes used for the pulverization mills of coal, which is the fuel for coal-fired power plants. Amid calls for the abolition of coal-fired power plants in pursuit of a decarbonized society, these plants continue to operate actively as electricity consumption expands worldwide. Naturally, unexpected system failures can lead to significant losses. The introduction of "Magnum" was motivated by reasons such as the ineffectiveness of conventional barrier-type filters, including: - Generation of pressure loss - High viscosity index of the lubricating oil used - Insufficient removal of tiny iron-based particles that can damage the system In any system, it is essential to quickly remove the increasing contamination to prevent a wear chain. Since the installation of "Magnum" at the Didcot A power plant 18 months ago, it has been reported that there have been no issues with the pulverization mill gearbox, which previously occurred about four times a year. The earlier "Magnum" is installed, the more effective the protection of the mill, leading to reduced losses!

A powerful ally of EDM - Special Magnetic Filter -

Significantly contributes to maintaining the cleanliness of EDM machining fluids, which is directly linked to product finish and the lifespan of the machine itself. Effectively captures a wide range of airborne particles from 0.07 to 260 microns.

- Extension of EDM existing filter lifespan - Reliable capture of extensive fine particles in the cutting fluid - Maintenance of cutting fluid cleanliness - Extension of machine lifespan - Improvement in reliability - Enhancement of product finishing accuracy The ability to cut ultra-hard alloys, which do not depend on the hardness of the workpiece—an advantage of electrical discharge machining—means that ultra-hard fine particles are constantly circulating in the cutting fluid. If these ultra-hard fine particles cannot be sufficiently removed by the filter system, it may trigger a "chain reaction of wear." When discharging the cutting fluid, these fine particles are filtered out as sludge, but the finer the mesh, the more expensive the filter becomes. Coarser filters are relatively inexpensive, but if they cannot adequately filter the sludge, they can lead to failures in the main unit and affect the finishing accuracy of the products. Finer meshes are more prone to clogging with sludge, leading to increased frequency of replacement/cleaning, which in turn increases downtime (time stopped for maintenance) and decreases work efficiency. Additionally, the economic losses, along with the environmental burden from disposal, also increase. This solution addresses all these concerns at once. Please try the special magnetic filter "Magnum."
