The harsh working environment and the impact of metal contamination on work vehicles are not surprising. Special magnetic filters are also playing a role here.
The harsh working environments of mines and quarries can cause even high-quality machinery to fail early in their lifespan. Additionally, excessive downtime due to failures is common in excavation operations. The special magnetic filter "Magnum" reliably captures submicron iron-based particles that are difficult to remove with existing filter systems, preventing pressure loss, clogging, and re-emission. It also demonstrates excellent effectiveness in heavy machinery operating on the front lines of the site, such as large excavators and roof bolters, which are affected by metal contamination in hydraulic systems. Please try the "Magnum," which is performing well in overseas sites.

basic information
■Removal of fine particles is possible Magnum can capture fine magnetic particles (submicron: 10μm to 0.07μm) that cannot be removed by filters using filter paper or mesh, such as cartridge filters. ■No clogging Due to its special structure, where magnets are sandwiched between special plates, it does not block the flow path in the area where iron powder is captured. Therefore, it does not clog at all and does not cause pressure loss. Even when the capture capacity limit is reached, it does not hinder the operation of the device. ■Powerful capturing ability The magnets enhance the magnetic flux through a special arrangement, resulting in a significant difference in the capturing ability of iron powder compared to simple magnets. Unlike conventional magnetic filters that can only capture contaminants from liquids close to the magnets, this design greatly improves the cleanliness of the fluid. ■No re-release Captured contaminants are stored in a powerful accumulation area separate from the flow path. The dangerous phenomenon that can occur with regular magnetic filters, where the magnetic force weakens as you move away from the magnet and once-captured contaminants can re-release as a lump, does not occur at all.

Detailed information

Engineers at Martin Marietta had already ordered the "Magnum" Midi Inline Filter for their outdated machinery used in underground operations, so they quickly realized it would also be ideal for their new equipment. The roof bolter from J.H. Fletcher & Co. (West Virginia, USA) failed early in its lifespan. Given the working environment, it was not surprising that the issue was due to metal contamination in the hydraulic valves, but our dealer promptly proposed a solution with the "Magnum," which completely resolved the problem.

Due to metal contamination in the hydraulic system, the large drilling machine L12 Scoop from Atlas Copco AB (Sweden) experienced failures, resulting in excessive downtime at Anglo Platinum's mining operations in South Africa. Engineers installed a standard Magnom inline unit. During the subsequent 125-hour routine inspection, they discovered a large amount of metal contamination that had remained circulating in the system with the conventional filter. According to the on-site engineers, this resolved the ongoing hydraulic issues, extended the lifespan of the hydraulic fluid and the standard filtration filter, and made it realistic to significantly extend the service intervals.
