Ground reinforcement work | Eliminate settlement risks in narrow sites with ETP method and data management.
Ground reinforcement work
The ETP method, utilizing a compact dedicated machine, is designed for construction in narrow spaces. It demonstrates reliable reach to the support layer and high safety through real-time tracking management of penetration data.
This document introduces the "ETP method," which addresses the challenges of "ground reinforcement work" in urban areas with limited access for heavy machinery and restricted workspaces, as well as the construction management system of Geotech. In densely populated urban areas with narrow site boundaries, there is a strong demand not only for reinforcement effects to prevent structural settlement accidents but also for the smooth delivery of construction machinery, reduction of impacts on neighboring properties, and assurance of underground construction reliability. The ETP method is a steel pipe pile method that features excellent penetration performance with a disc-shaped tip wing and excavation assist bit, allowing for powerful penetration and insertion using a compact dedicated construction machine compared to conventional methods. It enables smooth construction with low noise, low vibration, and no soil displacement even in narrow sites where large machinery cannot enter or in densely populated residential areas. With a wide range of pile diameters from φ89.1mm to φ609.6mm, it accommodates everything from single-family homes to large-scale buildings with a total floor area of 500,000 square meters. Geotech Co., Ltd. operates a management system that tracks and records the rotational torque and penetration depth in real-time during construction, ensuring reliable confirmation of reaching the support layer and stopping criteria based on objective data. We deliver assured quality and peace of mind while adhering to compliance.

basic information
This construction method is a reliable rotary-driven steel pipe pile method that has obtained certification from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the GBRC Building Technology Performance Certification (No. 12-20). It offers a lineup of shaft steel pipes with outer diameters ranging from φ89.1mm to φ609.6mm (16 sizes) and multi-stage wing diameter specifications. It accommodates the use of 590N grade high-tensile steel pipes and supports both pushing and pulling forces. The maximum construction depth is 130 times the outer diameter or less than 63.6m for sandy ground (including gravel), and 59.43m (or 57.0m) or less for clayey ground. During construction, a dedicated device continuously records and manages the rotational torque and penetration depth.

Applications/Examples of results
It is ideal for reinforcing the foundations of detached houses in densely populated urban areas where the transportation of large machinery and workspaces are limited, as well as for small retail and office spaces, and low to mid-rise apartments. It accommodates low-noise, low-vibration, and no-dirt-discharge construction in sites where the distance from neighboring houses is extremely close, preventing disputes with neighbors. Additionally, it is widely used for properties that require reliable stopping judgment data for structural calculations, public facilities, retaining walls, and foundation works, as well as for sustainable buildings that require reverse rotation removal of piles during reconstruction and sites planned for future redevelopment.
