Ground reinforcement work | Safe foundation construction technology to prevent differential settlement using high-support capacity DM method.
Ground reinforcement work
An environmentally friendly DM method that achieves high support strength through advanced wing and bolt connections. It strongly supports safe ground construction for small-scale buildings with no soil displacement and low noise construction.
The "DM Method (Double Metal Method)" provided by Geotech Co., Ltd. is a ground reinforcement technology using small-diameter steel pipe piles that reliably prevents differential settlement of buildings. Ground reinforcement work is essential for safely supporting buildings over the long term, and this method generates high end-bearing capacity through a unique structure that bolts large ductile cast iron end wings to the tips of the steel pipes. By eliminating variations in construction strength through a fixed method that does not use on-site welding, it utilizes reliable components manufactured under strict quality control in its own factory. Additionally, due to the rotary insertion method that does not use cement milk, there is no construction-generated soil (excess soil), allowing for low-noise and low-vibration construction. This significantly reduces the burden on the surrounding environment while achieving speedy construction. It has obtained GBRC architectural technology performance certification and enables high-precision foundation design based on SWS test data. With its manufacturing system in its own factory, a nationwide construction network, and real-time data management, it delivers high reliability and assured quality.

basic information
This construction method has obtained the GBRC performance certification (No. 10-01) from the Japan Architectural Institute Foundation. It uses STK400 steel pipes with a main axis diameter of 101.6 mm, bolted to ductile cast iron tip wings (FOD450A) with diameters 3.0 times (290 mm) and 3.5 times (350 mm) that of the steel pipe. The applicable ground conditions are sandy and clayey soils with a tip equivalent N value of 5 to 15. The maximum construction depth corresponds to 130 times the axis diameter, which is up to 13.2 m. It features a cement-free, non-excavation, low-noise, and low-vibration construction method, excelling in environmental performance and workability.

Applications/Examples of results
It is ideal for small buildings such as single-family homes, small multi-family residences, and stores that are three stories or fewer, with a height of 13 meters or less, an eaves height of 9 meters or less, and a total floor area of 500 square meters or less. Additionally, it is widely used for foundation reinforcement of small structures such as retaining walls and signs that are 3.5 meters or less in height. Since it does not require cement and does not generate excess soil, it is particularly effective for construction in narrow sites with close boundaries or adjacent buildings, as well as in urban areas or densely populated residential areas. It is utilized as a specific reinforcement measure that ensures reliable support while minimizing environmental impact, tailored to the practical needs of construction sites.
