A support pile method using general structural carbon steel pipes STK-400 to support small-scale houses when the column improvement method cannot be applied, and when the building's load is supported only by the tip of the pile. This method is applicable when soft layers continue to a depth of GL-8.0m or more. In the case of steel pipe pile methods, there is a relationship between the building and the surrounding ground, and if adopted in areas where extreme ground subsidence occurs, it may lead to the phenomenon of the building lifting up (such as when embankment is done on extremely soft ground or ground with thick deposits of humus). The supporting ground for determining the length of the steel pipe pile is defined as having an N value of ≧15. The thickness of the supporting ground layer should, in principle, be continuous for more than 2.0m.
