[Construction Example] Filling voids and correcting unevenness in CO pavement slabs inside highway tunnels.
Filling the voids and correcting the unevenness in the concrete pavement slabs inside the highway tunnel without excavation and within a short construction period.
【Customer Consultation and Issues】 A gap of up to 40mm has developed in the concrete pavement slabs within the highway tunnel, resulting in a height difference of up to 64mm due to fluttering. Patching materials were used to address the height differences, but to eliminate the discrepancies in the concrete pavement slabs, we adopted Upcon's concrete slab settlement correction method. This method allows for height correction within a short construction period without breaking the existing concrete pavement slabs. The gaps are filled with polyurethane resin, which expands on its own to fill the voids completely. The polyurethane resin injected beneath the concrete slabs flows into the crushed stone layer of the subbase, resolving any looseness in the surface layer and using the pressure from its foaming and expansion to lift the concrete pavement slabs and eliminate the height differences. 【Site Information】 Hiroshima Prefecture Total Construction Area: 653 square meters Construction Period: 10 nights

basic information
■What is the Concrete Slab Settlement Correction Method? For concrete pavement slabs that have experienced settlement, steps, tilting, or gaps, small holes with a diameter of 16mm are drilled, and polyurethane resin is injected while continuously monitoring the level in millimeter increments. The resin injected beneath the concrete pavement slab improves the strength of the subgrade with pressure that causes it to foam in a short time, thereby lifting and correcting the concrete pavement slab. The required strength of the resin is achieved approximately 120 minutes after injection. Additionally, if gaps have formed beneath the concrete pavement slab, the same method is used to fill those gaps. ■Features of the Method 1. Quick construction possible: The required strength is achieved about 2 hours after injecting the polyurethane resin, allowing for early reopening of the road. 2. Settlement correction of footing slabs and sleeper slabs can be done without excavation. 3. Improvement of subgrade looseness. 4. Responsive with mobile plant vehicles. We provide total support for on-site surveys, repair planning, and construction across the country, with our own staff taking responsibility. Our trained and experienced staff will propose the optimal repair plan tailored to your site.
