There are three methods for settlement correction work as follows: 1. Underpinning Method …The underpinning method involves using jacks to return a settled house to a level position. The load of the house is countered by driving prefabricated piles, such as steel pipe piles, into the ground with jacks until they reach the supporting soil for restoration. 2. Pressure Plate Method …After the building's settlement has stabilized, this method involves excavating the foundation and placing jacks on a rubble pile made of blocks and steel plates to correct the building's tilt. This method does not require large tools or materials and minimizes the areas that need to be demolished, thus reducing repair costs. It can be carried out with minimal vibration and dust while the residents remain in the building. 3. Pile Extraction Work …In the existing pile extraction work, depending on the type of pile, the first step is to eliminate the friction between the ground and the existing pile by generally covering the pile head with casing and drilling to perform "cutting the edge." After that, the extraction is carried out using a method suitable for the site conditions and soil type.
