[Video Introduction] What is the difference between general calibration and ISO 17025 accredited calibration?
WIKA pressure and temperature calibration
It clearly explains the differences between general calibration and ISO 17025 accredited calibration, as well as considerations regarding traceability and the issuance of calibration certificates.
Your measuring instrument can be checked for accuracy and calibrated at the WIKA calibration lab. Calibration can be performed either as a general calibration or as an ISO 17025 accredited calibration. The results of both types of calibration will be documented in a calibration certificate, and a calibration sticker will be affixed to the calibrated instrument. Only ISO 17025 accredited calibrations guarantee that testing is conducted using testing equipment certified by an international accreditation body. The traceability diagram is structured to show the hierarchy from the standard instruments used in the inspection factory to the test standards and national standards. Measurement uncertainty is documented by clarifying not only the factors of measurement error such as hysteresis and variation but also measurement deviation and the uncertainty of the reference instruments. Compared to general calibration, ISO 17025 accredited calibration is more accurate, broadly applicable, and internationally recognized. For general calibration, the instrument difference is determined by considering only hysteresis. The calibration performed at the time of factory shipment is issued as an inspection certificate in accordance with DIN / EN 10204.
