The hospital, which was 27 years old at the time, was using galvanized steel pipes (SGP), and the red rust deterioration in the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping was very advanced, raising concerns about leaks. Before the red rust corrosion could progress any further, a red rust prevention piping extension device called "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed.
