Since it is a reciprocating motion, debris and floating objects like trash and grass are less likely to get tangled. It can generate electricity even in shallow rivers. It serves as a low-cost flow meter for flood prediction without the need for an external power source.
Hydro-VENUS generates electricity by slowly oscillating a sturdy pendulum. Its simple shape compared to propellers provides high strength and minimizes the likelihood of entangling debris and vegetation. It can also be used as a flow meter by utilizing the principle that the amount of electricity generated varies with flow velocity. Since it is a generator itself, it does not require an external power source, making it low-cost, and it can efficiently generate electricity even in shallow rivers and waterways as long as the pendulum's amplitude is sufficient. It is being deployed in many small to medium-sized rivers that do not have flow meters or water level gauges for river management, and by utilizing AI with the flow velocity data collected, a system for wide-area flood prediction is under development. **Features** - Easy to manufacture due to its simple structural design, resulting in low production costs. - The pendulum structure is durable and easy to maintain. - Achieves an overwhelmingly low-cost flow meter for river management compared to conventional methods. - Developing a flood prediction system using AI with big data on flow velocity. *For more details, please contact us or download the PDF to view.*

basic information
The initials of the Hydrokinetic Vortex Energy Utilization System (a system for utilizing vortex energy based on fluid dynamics) are read as Hydro-VENUS. It operates on the principle of driving a generator through fluid-induced vibrations. It is capable of not only vibrating but also rotating like a propeller. In deep water, it generates power by rotating, while in shallow or confined spaces, it generates power by vibrating at a smaller scale. In the case of rotation, it has the unique ability to rotate in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions, providing a high degree of freedom in rotation and achieving a high operational efficiency.

To commercialize the pendulum-type water flow power generation system Hydro-VENUS (Hydrokinetic Vortex ENergy Utilization System), which was developed from research at Okayama University, we have established Hydro Venus Co., Ltd. This is the world's first method to generate electricity by vibrating a pendulum using the flow of water from nearby rivers, waterways, tidal currents, and ocean currents. It is also possible to rotate it like the conventional propeller rotation method seen in wind power generation. In the case of the rotating type, it has the unique feature of being able to rotate in both forward and reverse directions, making it suitable for small hydropower generation as it is less likely to get entangled with grass and other debris. Currently, we are developing a flow meter based on the principle that the amount of electricity generated changes according to the flow velocity. As it is a generator itself, we aim to achieve a low-cost flow meter that does not require an external power source. It can generate electricity even in shallow rivers, allowing installation in small and medium-sized rivers that previously lacked water level gauges or flow meters. We are also developing a system that uses AI to predict floods based on data from the installed Hydro-VENUS flow meters.
