The SI-65i-RJ is an interface converter (serial-to-LAN conversion adapter) that connects control devices and measuring instruments with only RS-422/RS-485 serial communication ports to an Ethernet LAN. It incorporates a Lantronix XPort in the LAN interface section, converting RS-422/RS-485 communication data into LAN protocols such as TCP/IP and sending it to the LAN side, while data from the LAN is transmitted by automatically controlling the RS-485 driver. It is equipped with two RJ45 connectors that allow RS-422/485 connections using standard LAN cables with either straight or crossover wiring, making it easy to wire RS-422/485 via LAN cables. Retaining the features of traditional models, such as a robust metal housing and optional 35mm DIN rail mounting or wall mounting, it adopts an insulated specification (1500Vdc) with high-voltage signal isolation between LAN and RS-422/485 using optocouplers, ensuring safer usage.

In addition to screw fastening using the M3 screw holes on the base and bottom, it can be mounted on a 35mm DIN rail using optional DIN mounting plates (SI-DIN70) or DIN vertical mounting plates (SI-DIN30S), and it can be securely fastened from the front using wall mounting brackets (SI-WM1). A standard LAN cable can be used on the RS-422/485 side, allowing for easy one-touch connection and expansion of the converter.
