The FBG sensor measurement unit from PhotonFirst (formerly TFT-FOS) in the Netherlands has gained recognition through its participation in recent sensing projects across various European countries, including Airbus. This product, while following the lineage of the company's existing products, incorporates the latest dedicated photonic ICs to achieve further miniaturization and enhanced performance. It can be applied in a wide range of industrial fields, including civil engineering, aerospace, medical devices, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, for applications such as strain, temperature, vibration, simple 3D/shape and motion tracing, and sensing. basic information
This is a compact, high-speed FBG sensor measurement unit with a built-in signal light source (1.5μm band). The base model GTR, which is the lowest model, is a small desktop type measuring 100mm x 114mm x 35mm and weighing 310g, comparable in size to a few CD cases, including higher models. It allows for the configuration of up to 8 sensors at one optical port, and the control interface is USB 2.0. It is powered by a DC power supply via an included AC adapter, but battery operation is also possible. Evaluation measurement software is also included, enabling the construction of a basic system in a short time with the provision of a host computer and sensor FBG. With the adoption of the latest ASPIC and no mechanical moving parts, it supports dynamic strain and transient shock detection with a maximum sampling frequency of 19.2kHz, guarantees measurement wavelength stability within 5pm, wavelength resolution within 1pm, and an operating temperature range of 0°C to +45°C. There are variations available, including products that expand the number of supported sensors through stack configurations of the base unit or additional switches, as well as those for aircraft installation.
