Investigating the changes in wind environment when high-rise buildings are constructed in areas with relatively open surroundings.
The analysis of the wind environment around high-rise buildings aims to investigate the degree of impact on the surrounding area, which inevitably increases. In urban areas, it is not uncommon for buildings over 100 meters tall to be constructed; however, in such cases, the impact on the wind environment (building wind) differs significantly compared to situations where relatively low-rise apartments are built in residential areas. For buildings exceeding 100 meters, the areas of reverse flow that appear on the approach (windward) side, as well as the wakes (downstream vortices) that occur behind, become very large, resulting in a correspondingly significant impact on the surroundings. This analysis examined the changes in the wind environment when high-rise buildings are constructed in areas where the surroundings are relatively open. For more details, please download the catalog.

basic information
【Analysis】 ○ The analysis grid reproduces a fairly wide area of the neighboring blocks centered around the planned building. ○ The number of grids is 152×145×39=859,560. ○ To express the wind speed distribution in detail, the grid spacing of the analysis model is made finer in the area within the site of the planned building. ○ The wind speed conditions are determined based on local meteorological data, setting the wind direction and speed, and a power law distribution of wind is established. 【Analysis Results】 ○ In the summer (with a south wind), the backflow area on the approach side caused by the wind and the wake behind the building are very large. ○ Although a twin-tower type planned building is constructed on a fairly large site, the impact extends beyond the site boundaries to distant areas. ○ In particular, the vortices at the rear are significant, and it is believed that they affect an area 3 to 4 times the height of the building. ○ There are no large buildings in the public open space or nearby, but a considerable increase in wind speed is expected in that area. ○ Proper placement of building setbacks and landscaping is desirable. ○ The velocity distribution and velocity vector diagram of the cross-section centered around the planned building, as well as the trajectories of particles, can be understood from the diagrams. ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

In environmental simulation, we are engaged in the independent development and sale of a three-dimensional fluid analysis program, as well as contract analysis services using this software. For over a decade, we have been involved in thermal fluid analysis in fields such as architecture, civil engineering, machinery, and electronics, handling numerous analyses and accumulating a wealth of know-how and knowledge. Our diverse analysis and visualization functions, honed through practical experience, have received high praise as CFD software from many companies and research institutions. ● Import function for BIM-compatible CAD data such as Revit and DXF ● Import function for geographic information system (GIS) data ● SuperCartesian function that freely represents diagonal boundaries and complex curved surfaces ● High-speed, high-precision radiation calculations and high-precision turbulence analysis using DNS ● Moving boundary problem analysis function that accommodates the movement of multiple objects in space ● User-friendly interface and easy-to-understand animation features Of course, we also provide software support and accept contract analyses. Focusing on air conditioning ventilation and wind environment analysis, we offer high cost-performance solutions for a wide range of problems, from simple and small-scale issues to complex and large-scale analyses. We look forward to your visit, along with our extensive analysis case studies.
