The Early Germination Power Testing Method (NETIS: KT-060003-V, utilized from fiscal year 2013 until the end of the registration period) is a seed quality inspection technique that can test the germination rate of woody plant seeds within about a week, regardless of whether the seeds are dormant. The correlation between the test values and the germination rates obtained by conventional testing methods is very high, allowing for the pre-confirmation of germination rates of woody plant seeds, which often have significant variability, and reflecting this in seed mixture design. This greatly enhances the accuracy of quality management in design and construction. The Japan Tree Seed Research Institute applies the Early Germination Power Testing Method to seed quality management and the development of storage technologies, supporting the supply of reliable domestically produced native seeds. Additionally, they offer contract services for vitality testing of seeds using the Early Germination Power Testing Method.
