At NR-Power Lab, we provide services aimed at expanding the adoption of renewable energy, which is essential for achieving carbon neutrality, by combining the large-capacity NAS battery control technology owned by NGK Insulators with the digital technology held by Ricoh to create a renewable energy distribution record platform. We offer "VPP services" that integrate and control various energy resources, including storage batteries, to adjust the supply and demand balance of electricity, as well as "power digital services" that utilize electricity data to contribute to the introduction of renewable energy and energy-saving decarbonization. Recently, the term "energy resource aggregation business" has come into use. (Refer to business association information) Energy resources broadly refer to any devices or systems that handle energy, including the following: (1) "Use": Demand equipment <air conditioners, production equipment, etc.> (2) "Reduce": Energy conservation <EMS control, equipment replacement, etc.> (3) "Create": Power generation equipment <renewable energy, cogeneration, etc.> (4) "Store": Energy storage equipment <batteries, electric vehicles, etc.> (5) "Receive": Procurement <receiving renewable energy, etc.> (6) "Convert": Conversion equipment <heat pumps, hydrogen production devices, etc.> NR-Power Lab aims to provide two services in total by operating bundled energy resources: "VPP (Virtual Power Plant) service" "Electricity (*) digital service" (* data utilization contributing to GX centered around electricity) In other words, since its establishment, NR-Power Lab has been advancing the business development of what is now referred to as the "energy resource aggregation business."

NR-Power Lab is promoting the development of a "Virtual Power Plant" service, realized through energy resource management, primarily through charging and discharging instructions for batteries, in collaboration with Sassor. By forecasting the power consumption and generation of each consumer, it automatically controls batteries and EVs to maximize economic efficiency. It is also possible to respond to demand response (DR) during times of electricity demand pressure by predicting the demand and supply within local communities and controlling the charging and discharging of batteries and EVs at each facility. Through automated control of DR in response to commands (Auto DR), it provides a SaaS service for Virtual Power Plants (VPP), which can be applied to reduce electricity procurement costs for power companies and mitigate imbalances.
