GT-SUITE Function: Underhood Cooling Module Analysis

Introduction to the underfood cooling module and analysis of the liquid flow circuit.

"GT-SUITE" is a tool for modeling vehicle cooling systems, applicable to liquid circuits that remove heat from various components such as engines and transmissions, as well as under-hood cooling modules that dissipate heat to the atmosphere. It also includes a 3D preprocessing tool that allows for the efficient creation of liquid flow circuit models directly from 3D CAD data. This approach enables more accurate predictions of pressure losses at various branching points in the system based on geometry. 【Features】 ■ 3D tool for automatic meshing of under-hood heat exchangers, fans, and air spaces ■ Pseudo-3D Navier-Stokes-based approach for under-hood cooling modules, handling uneven flow and temperature distribution ■ 3D tool for characterizing liquid flow circuits from CAD data ■ Thermal effects included in liquid flow analysis, with the possibility of zero flow conditions *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Fluid-Structure Interaction Analysis

Coupled analysis with Abaqus/STAR-CCM+ for more realistic CAE.

Around us, various physical phenomena such as fluids, structures, electromagnetic fields, and acoustics are intricately intertwined to form a "multiphysics" environment. To accurately capture these phenomena in CAE, it is necessary to model them while considering multiphysics. In this context, the functionality and performance of software and hardware continue to improve rapidly, establishing a foundation for coupled analysis that takes multiple physical phenomena into account. Due to demands for cost reduction in product development and shorter development cycles, the need for improved accuracy and practical application of CAE is increasing daily. Therefore, at IDAJ, we provide a comprehensive support for multiphysics CAE by simultaneously proposing Abaqus and the general-purpose thermal fluid analysis program STAR-CCM+. By combining Abaqus and STAR-CCM+ for coupled analysis, we achieve more realistic and accurate analyses.

Today's ANSYS: Analysis of Water Purification Treatment Using UV Sterilization Equipment

Introduction to the analysis of water purification treatment using ultraviolet sterilization devices.

I would like to introduce information that highlights how CAE and CFD are beneficial to society, along with interesting application examples, primarily through articles from the information magazine "ADVANTAGE" published by ANSYS, Inc. and ANSYS Japan Co., Ltd. This time, I will discuss the analysis of water purification treatment using ultraviolet sterilization devices. ANSYS Fluent is equipped with numerous radiation models, and in this case, we will simulate using the DO model and model various microorganisms with DPM (Lagrangian), which is a somewhat unique example. When I first saw this case, I thought it might not fall within the realm of CFD (fluid analysis), but depending on how it is used, there seems to be potential for increased applications. We will incorporate the total amount of ultraviolet light (UV Dose) that bacteria receive while flowing through the ultraviolet sterilization device using a UDF (User Defined Function). In the tap water we use and drink in our daily lives, ultraviolet irradiation devices are reportedly always used for sterilization (to kill chlorine-resistant bacteria such as Cryptosporidium). In other words, if we could improve the sterilization efficiency by even an average of 1% at the countless water purification plants across the country, it would create a significant impact.
