■Tensile Test The standard tensile test is the optimal method for determining the mechanical properties of aluminum and copper foil test specimens. Pneumatic grips provide consistent pressure with rapid processing capability for these high-capacity materials. Additionally, thin metal foils are susceptible to minor shifts within the grip, so accurate alignment of the test specimens is crucial for ensuring reproducibility and protecting the specimens. It is common to use ASTM E345-16 as guidance for this test. ■Automated Testing As battery production continues to increase and materials become thinner, productivity and efficiency become extremely important to meet demand. By using recommended equipment in conjunction with automated systems, it is possible to keep pace with the requirements for thinner, wider, and longer metal foil test specimens while reducing the operator's burden and maximizing productivity while maintaining optimal results.

■Puncture Test The puncture test of the separator film is important for ensuring the safety and longevity of each cell throughout the battery's lifecycle. The film must have sufficient strength to withstand punctures from dendrites formed during long-term use. In this application, it is crucial to ensure proper tension of the test specimen and correct alignment of the upper contactor. The procedure for this test is similar to EN 14477 and ASTM F1306. ■Tensile Test The tensile test is used to confirm that the separator film can withstand all mechanical operations that occur during the manufacturing and use of the battery. To ensure reproducibility and productivity, and to prevent damage to the test specimen before testing, proper alignment, insertion, and gripping operations of the test specimen must be ensured. The procedure for this test is similar to ASTM D882 and ISO 527-3.
