The WPLP-PAR-01 measures the number of photons incident on a surface per second in the spectral range of 400 to 700 nm, and the ratio to unit area (m2). This quantity is defined as PAR, or Photosynthetically Active Radiation. The calibration of the probe is performed using a halogen lamp, with specific spectra being referenced against known spectral radiation. The spectral response of the probe is slightly affected by temperature. Due to the special structure of the diffuser and probe, it also responds to changes in the angle of incidence on the diffuser, corrected for the cosine law.
