The red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector" completely prevents red rust in the air conditioning hot and cold water pipes of the Imperial Theatre, where pipe replacement is difficult, and has proven that it can extend the lifespan of the pipes until the building's lifespan.
Currently, at the Imperial Theatre, which has been standing for 56 years, the "NMR Pipe Protector" was introduced in 2000 (Heisei 12), marking 34 years since its construction, with the aim of preventing corrosion of the building's piping and rehabilitating it.
The Imperial Theatre building has its own heating source equipment for air conditioning, and the machine room is located at the deepest point, the sixth basement level.
Renovations and maintenance of various components, such as water-based piping that is prone to aging, have been carried out quite frequently. However, while exposed piping and equipment in the machine room have been manageable, the buried piping could not be addressed.
The effects of introducing the NMR Pipe Protector have been tremendous. This year marks 56 years since its construction, and the occurrence of red rust inside the piping has been remarkably suppressed. Additionally, there has been no leakage for the past 22 years since the installation of the product, proving that the red rust has transformed into black rust.
As a result, the NMR Pipe Protector has contributed to maintaining a comfortable theatrical environment at the Imperial Theatre, which symbolizes Japan's theatrical culture.
