Gain CF sheet method [Structural reinforcement and peeling prevention measures]

High-strength carbon fiber "Gaina CF Sheet" demonstrates significant reinforcement and repair effects on concrete structures without applying any load.

The Gain CF Sheet Method is a technique that involves applying carbon fiber sheets treated with high adhesive penetration to concrete structures for the repair and reinforcement of tunnels. It has passed tests for "flammability, self-extinguishing properties, and the safety of emitted gases," making it suitable for use within tunnels. Additionally, the sheets are treated for high penetration and, when combined with a specialized adhesive, exhibit excellent adhesive performance. This helps to prevent the sheets from peeling during construction, ensuring safe installation. There are two types of sheets with different weaves: the "CR" type, primarily used for fall prevention, which incorporates carbon fibers woven in both vertical and horizontal directions, and the "UD" type, designed for reinforcement, which aligns carbon fibers in one direction. With the addition of the UD300, which has a weight of 300g/m², alongside the existing UD200 and CR200 (both with a weight of 200g/m²), the application range of the Gain CF Sheet Method has expanded.

Anti-corrosion coating and sheet lining method (prepreg post-application type) HKS method

Dramatically improve the quality of the sheet joint area.

▼Overview The HKS method is a corrosion protection coating technique applied to concrete exposed to harsh corrosive environments. In traditional post-laminated sheet lining methods using prepreg, the seams become laps, raising concerns that ultraviolet light may not adequately penetrate, resulting in incomplete curing. The seam treatment in the HKS method employs a revolutionary corrosion protection coating technique that uses molded joint materials made of high corrosion-resistant vinyl ester resin FRP for joint treatment. ▼Features This method involves applying HKS sheets to concrete surfaces or cross-section repair surfaces that have been coated with primer, followed by ultraviolet irradiation to achieve complete curing and integration with the concrete. The joints feature a double structure where FRP molded products are installed with a highly corrosion-resistant sealing material, providing excellent durability. Compared to traditional post-laminated sheet lining methods that involve overlapping sheets for joint treatment, this method offers superior workability. Additionally, it possesses sufficient corrosion resistance for the harsh corrosive environments found in sewer-related facilities.

The Innovative CFRP Repair and Reinforcement Method for Steel Structures - In-situ VaRTM Method

Forming 3D-shaped CFRP stiffeners on-site! (There is an example of steel girder web buckling countermeasures in Tokushima Prefecture)

The "In-situ VaRTM Method" is a innovative resin impregnation technique that utilizes vacuum technology, allowing for the production of high-quality CFRP reinforcement materials on-site, tailored to the shape of steel materials, through a new CF sheet bonding method. <Strengths of the Method> 1. Three-Dimensional Reinforcement Materials ● Three-dimensional reinforcement materials, similar to ribs, can be produced on-site, enabling integration with existing steel structures. This is something that was not possible with conventional CFRP reinforcement methods but can be achieved with the On-Site VaRTM Method. 2. Ultra-Short Construction Period and Cost Reduction ● Reinforcement for one location of steel corrosion can be completed in a standard of 3 to 4 days (a 70-80% reduction in construction time compared to conventional CF sheet bonding methods), allowing for efficient steel reinforcement. ● Due to the shortened construction period and increased efficiency, costs can be reduced by 20-30% compared to conventional CF sheet bonding methods. 3. Measures Against Poor Curing During Resin Curing ● During curing, uncured resin is covered with a film, preventing issues such as amine brushing that can lead to poor resin curing. 4. Others ● The On-Site VaRTM Method is a unique method developed by Toray. ● It received the Minister of Economy Award at the 6th Infrastructure Maintenance Awards. ● Approved as a new repair and reinforcement method by Japan Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
