The concrete corrosion phenomenon in sewer facilities is known to occur due to the generation of sulfides by sulfate-reducing bacteria in sewage sludge. Hydrogen sulfide gas, which is released from the liquid phase to the gas phase, dissolves in condensate water and progresses due to sulfuric acid produced by sulfur-oxidizing bacteria. Even when coated with anti-corrosion materials, corrosion progresses from areas where pinholes or cracks have developed in the anti-corrosion material, leading to breakage or cracks that cannot follow the cracks. The "Airtight Construction Method" is designed with a focus on corrosion resistance, crack-following capability, and measures to suppress pinholes.
