Ground reinforcement work | Reliable settlement prevention and high bearing capacity achieved with the Geo-Column method.
Ground reinforcement work
Prevent different settlement accidents on weak ground in advance! A reliable geo-column method that builds a solid foundation by powerful mixing of cement slurry and local soil.
To maintain the seismic resistance and structural safety of buildings over the long term, it is extremely important to implement appropriate ground reinforcement work tailored to site conditions. The Geo-column method is a highly reliable deep ground improvement technology that constructs strong soil-cement column improvements underground by injecting a slurry mixed with cement-based solidifying materials and water into soft ground and mechanically mixing and stirring it with specialized equipment. It primarily targets small-scale buildings, including wooden and steel-framed single-family homes, and demonstrates overwhelming settlement suppression performance in sites where soft layers are distributed from GL-2m to GL-8m. By securely anchoring the tip of the improvement body into good ground with a cohesive soil N value exceeding 3 and a sandy soil N value exceeding 4, it safely supports the building load and prevents serious damage incidents such as tilting and cracking due to differential settlement. In the construction process, specialized management measurement devices are used to automatically record construction depth and slurry discharge volume in real-time, ensuring strict quality assurance that does not rely solely on visual inspection. Under the comprehensive support system of Geotech Co., Ltd., we provide reliable and safe foundation ground.

basic information
The standard specifications for the Geo-column method (deep ground mixing treatment method) are an improvement diameter of φ600mm and a construction depth of approximately GL-2.0m to GL-8.0m. The conditions for anchoring in the supporting layer require penetration of more than 50cm into good ground with a converted N value exceeding 3 for cohesive soil and exceeding 4 for granular soil. The materials used are inorganic cement solidifying agents, with a standard addition amount of 300kg/m3 or more for cohesive soil and 250kg/m3 or more for granular soil. The construction equipment is equipped with a management measurement device (such as GEO-MONITOR) as standard, which automatically records and manages construction depth, rotation speed, pressure, and flow rate in real time.

Applications/Examples of results
This construction method is ideal for reinforcing the foundations of wooden, steel-framed, and reinforced concrete (RC) single-family homes and apartments that are three stories or less, with a height of 13 meters or less, and a total floor area of 1,500 square meters or less. It is utilized by placing it directly beneath strip foundations or slab foundations to prevent differential settlement. Additionally, it addresses various foundation reinforcement needs in architectural practice, such as reinforcing directly beneath porch columns and corridor supports, and stabilizing the ground in proximity to retaining walls. It ensures reliable load-bearing capacity and settlement measures in sites where weak layers extend several meters from the surface.
