Ground reinforcement work | RES-P method technology to thoroughly prevent settlement accidents in weak ground.
Ground reinforcement work
Conquering humus soil and weak ground! The RES-P method for ground reinforcement prevents sinking through the combined effects of small-diameter steel pipes and the ground, ensuring the structural safety of buildings.
To safely maintain a building, appropriate ground reinforcement work based on ground surveys is essential. If construction is carried out directly on weak ground with insufficient bearing capacity, differential settlement can occur due to uneven loading and stratification, leading to serious issues such as structural tilting and cracks in the exterior walls. The RES-P method is a piled raft foundation technology that continuously places small-diameter steel pipes (outer diameter 48.6mm) in weak ground, significantly enhancing the bearing capacity beneath the foundation through the combined action of the ground and the pipes. It demonstrates reliable settlement suppression effects even in challenging ground conditions such as organic soil and clay. This method does not use cement-based solidifiers, resulting in no residual soil generated on-site, which reduces disposal costs and maintains a clean site environment simultaneously. Furthermore, since there is no curing period for the solidifier, work on the next phase of foundation construction can smoothly commence immediately after the pipe installation is completed, allowing for an overall reduction in the construction schedule. The use of lightweight, compact 2-ton small machinery minimizes noise and vibration for nearby residents. GeoTech Co., Ltd. provides reliable and trustworthy ground reinforcement through high-precision data tracking with construction management devices and a nationwide network system.

basic information
The reinforcement material used in the RES-P method is a general structural carbon steel pipe with an outer diameter of 48.6 mm and a wall thickness of 2.4 mm. The surface of the steel pipe is treated for rust prevention, ensuring long-term stability and durability underground. The applicable range is small-scale buildings with up to three stories above ground, a height of 13 meters or less, and a total floor area of 1,500 square meters or less (for single-story buildings, up to 3,000 square meters). The foundation type can accommodate strip foundations with a long-term allowable ground pressure of 50 kN/square meter or slab foundations with a pressure of 80 kN/square meter or less. Reinforcement is possible for cohesive soil and sandy soil foundations up to a maximum depth of 14 meters.

Applications/Examples of results
The main application is foundation ground reinforcement work in new construction plans for single-family homes, low-rise apartment buildings, and small shops. It is ideal for sites where it is necessary to reliably suppress differential settlement due to the weight of the building on weak ground, humus soil, or muddy ground, thereby enhancing structural safety. Additionally, it is effective in projects that aim to significantly reduce disposal costs and transportation efforts associated with construction waste from cement-based ground improvement, as well as in tight sites where immediate commencement of foundation work after pouring is desired without a curing period. It is widely utilized as a rational ground countermeasure that allows for the direct adoption of strip foundations or slab foundations.
