AGC Inc. (President: Yoshinori Hirai) and Kitakyushu City (Mayor: Kazuhisa Takeuchi) conducted Japan's first demonstration experiment utilizing AGC's window-mounted camera "Mihalmo" for crime prevention purposes. This initiative was implemented using the framework of the "Kitakyushu Advanced Industrial Technology Demonstration One-Stop Center (National Strategic Special Zone Project)." The results of the demonstration experiment confirmed that "Mihalmo" is effective as a security camera and that it can reduce installation costs by approximately 60% compared to conventional outdoor security cameras, significantly shortening the construction period.

Kitakyushu City has set forth the realization of a "peaceful town" in its new vision (basic concept and basic plan) and is promoting the installation of security cameras aimed at crime prevention and enhancing local crime prevention awareness. Until now, its use has mainly been in events and short-term experiments, but this time, for the first time nationwide, long-term operation for security purposes was conducted in actual settings, confirming the following points: 1. Cost comparison with conventional cameras ➡ Installation work is unnecessary, reducing the introduction cost by about 60%. 2. Performance comparison with conventional cameras ➡ Clear images can be captured even through windows, making it usable as a security camera. 3. Construction period comparison with conventional cameras ➡ The construction period, which previously took several months from installation negotiations to the start of operation, has been significantly shortened.
