Place the film thickness gauge vertically against the film surface and let it touch the substrate. After the teeth of the comb come into contact with the paint, wait a few seconds and then lift the film thickness gauge. The thickness of the wet film corresponds to the value between the largest tooth that has paint on it and the smallest tooth that does not have paint on it.
