■Multi-core POF can minimize light transmission loss when the fiber is bent by increasing the number of cores. - Transmission Loss (Guiding Loss) The light transmission characteristics of plastic optical fibers vary depending on the wavelength of light. - Weather Resistance Asahi Kasei's plastic optical fiber (POF) is primarily made of P-MMA resin, which has excellent weather resistance, so its initial performance rarely deteriorates over long periods. However, prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light may cause changes such as yellowing, so please be cautious. - Flexibility Compared to electrical wires, it has excellent fracture strength against bending, but extreme bends can cause light transmission loss. Please use it within the allowable bending radius for each grade. For wiring with extreme bends, we recommend using Asahi Kasei's "Multi-core POF," which does not experience a decrease in light quantity when bent. - Chemical Resistance Generally, exposure to organic solvents may cause a decrease in light transmission rate or mechanical strength, so please be cautious. For adhesive use, we recommend a room temperature curing two-component mixed type epoxy adhesive.

When the temperature exceeds 200°C, some of the resin will begin to decompose, generating flammable gases, and there is a risk of ignition at even higher temperatures. In particular, when using lamps as a light source, please ensure that the temperature of the POF does not exceed 80°C due to its performance characteristics. - Storage Precautions To prevent degradation of the performance of plastic optical fiber, store it indoors away from direct sunlight, rain, water leaks, and excessive humidity.
