Solar cells absorb light to generate electricity, but some of it is released through a phenomenon called luminescence. The method of capturing this light is known as PL (Photoluminescence) observation. POPLI observes the emission wavelength range based on the bandgap. If there are defects, the generated carriers get trapped, resulting in lower luminescence intensity compared to normal areas, and this difference in intensity can be used to identify abnormal regions.
