Hardox 500 Tuf combines the best properties of Hardox 450 and Hardox 500, offering excellent performance.
The latest upgrade in the Hardox series, Hardox 500 Tuf, not only has the same hardness as Hardox 500 but also features a narrower nominal hardness range (475–505 HB) and a minimum nominal hardness that is higher than that of Hardox 500. With guaranteed impact toughness (27 J/-20°C), its wear resistance in simulations is improved by 35% to 40% compared to Hardox 450. Additionally, while Hardox 500 Tuf has the same hardness as Hardox 500, it possesses the same bending characteristics as Hardox 450, and welding does not require preheating for thicknesses up to 16 mm, making it easier to process.

≪Features of Wear-Resistant Steel Plate Hardox 500 Tuf≫ Excellent mechanical properties: Nominal hardness: 475–505 HB; Yield strength: 1250–1400 MPa; Impact toughness: CVL 45 J (-40°C). Excellent weldability: Thin plates under 16 mm do not require preheating before welding. Excellent bendability: Minimum bending radius: R/t = 3 (t < 8; perpendicular to the rolling direction). Excellent machinability: Cutting, bending, welding, and machining are possible, nearly the same as HARDOX 450. Excellent cold resistance: Exhibits excellent toughness even at sub-zero temperatures, with impact energy of CVT 27 J (-20°C) guaranteed for all thicknesses. Variety of grades: Multiple grades are available, allowing selection based on application. Thickness: t 4 mm to t 25.4 mm; Width: 1500 mm to 2500 mm; Length: 3000 mm to 6000 mm.
