Salt-resistant drilling fluid for seawater use.

We introduce a "seawater-based drilling fluid" that can be used in locations where obtaining fresh water for offshore drilling is difficult, or in strata affected by seawater. Feature 1: Can be directly mixed with seawater Bentonite drilling fluid mixed with seawater has significantly lower viscosity compared to when mixed with fresh water. Our seawater-based drilling fluid can produce high-viscosity drilling fluid even when mixed with seawater. Feature 2: Prevents wall collapse Compared to bentonite drilling fluid mixed with seawater, our seawater-based drilling fluid maintains the wall for a longer duration. Collapse Test 1. A partition is placed in the center of each container, with sand on the left side and various drilling fluids mixed with seawater on the right side. 2. After removing the partition, 1 minute and 40 seconds later, the bentonite drilling fluid collapsed, while the seawater-based drilling fluid maintained the wall. With our seawater-based drilling fluid, smooth drilling can be achieved even in locations where obtaining fresh water is challenging. (Actual experimental footage is available on YouTube.)
